I know how to set the recorder but how will I know when to set it to start recording ?? I'm guessing that BBC i won't show the full day's play on Vodafone but will just come on when the Murray match starts.
I have never actually done this before, mind you!
I have set my video on long play, to record channel 302 from 2.30 a.m., just in case the ladies' matches don't take long. I would think that if the BBC do not start until after that I will just get a long expanse of tape showing those red dots on interactive. . .
Here's hoping it works . If not I will hurriedly have to record the highlights!
Andy Murray says he has learnt to cope with the intensity of Grand Slam competition as he prepares for his second match at the Australian Open.
"I know how to deal with the pressures much better than last year," he said.
"I have so much more experience. I hope in two, three years' time I'll be a consistent contender for Grand Slams."
Murray credits his new-found confidence and focus to a good spell of training designed to increase his stamina and fitness.
"I worked on pretty much everything, just getting stronger physically," said Murray.
"I go on court against the guys that are bigger than me, guys that were overpowering me last year, and I feel like I can stay with them and hit the ball harder than a lot of them.
"All the hard work is definitely paying off right now. If I have to go deep into matches I'm hoping that my fitness will hold up."
Murray is aware that Verdasco could provide a stern test, even though at world number 16, the Briton is ranked 19 places higher than his opponent.
The 23-year-old Spaniard is a talented player with a huge forehand that has helped him to wins over the likes of Andy Roddick, Ivan Ljubicic and David Nalbandian.
"It's going to be really difficult," said Murray, who is meeting Verdasco for the first time.
"Verdasco has won against guys like Roddick and is a tough guy to play against.
"But I feel like if I play like I did Tuesday and a little bit better, then I've got a good chance of winning."
"THE MATCH WILL BE REPLAYED ON BBC INTERACTIVE AND ON THE BBC SPORT WEBSITE AT 0830."
Now I'd interpret that as a full(?) replay at 0830, which would presumably displace the live action on channel 302, anyway that's what I'm banking on. Just hope I'm right!
Not what the commentators said - but of course, the Beeb may have changed their minds, I expect this article was later than the commentary. The commentators definitely said "extensive highlights".
That way when you get up you could log in, go to "matches video on demand" then watch the whole match "as live" (though without commentary) when you start in the morning, without having to go via any website where you might see the result.
That said, I'll be trying to stay up, hoping to get it live (with commentary) from either Eurosport (TV not web) or (here in Spain) Teledeporte.
the OOP shows nadal last on the rod laver arena, so im hoping for 90 mins highlights of the murrays match. i doubt i will get up at 3.00am but if i do i probably dose off to sleep again unless hes a set down!
