The list is the same as that of AO Juniors, showing how difficult it is. Dan and Dyce in there as expected. Michael Thompson needs twelve withdrawals for a qualies draw place.
Austin Krajicek is rated highly by Nick Bollettieri. He could play Berankis if he beats Krajicek. And Greg Jones nearly beat Bolelli a few days ago ( ), someone ranked more than 1400 places above him!
Dyce's draw is better. Kecki will be pretty tough, but he can do it. And he has beaten Velasco before.
Graeme Dyce [58] lost to Mateusz Kecki [26] of the US by 63 64.
Daniel Cox [73] beat Austin Krajicek [50] of the US by 64 76.
It's sad that Dyce couldn't win here after doing so well last time. He showed that he is capable of some solid tennis, so we can hope that he will do better at the AO.
Daniel partners Gastao Elias!! They are the two most talented players in that field (in my opinion) and have a title together (back in August 2004), so hopefully they'll make some progress. Dyce goes for Harri Heliovaara. They reached the finals of a Grade 1 event a few weeks ago, so they must gel together very well.

A good win for Dan against a top 50 opponent.
Great news for Dan. And Berankis lost first round again! So lets hope for a deep run into this tournie!
Wonder what's up with Berankis. He was in great form during the end of 2006 as he got his first Grade 1 title but he has had two first round exits since then. Maybe it's the heat??
Dan will need to make it to the quarters to gain even a single point, and that could involve a match against the in form Greg Jones.
Millman, Dan's next opponent, is a bit better than what his ranking of 86 suggests. He is underranked due to lack of action but won three titles last year. I think that it will be pretty even between him and Dan given that he'll have home support.
