RE: Aussie Open pick'em predictions competition

11/16 sounds very good.

I've only got 9 so far - there were four matches where I lost my predicted R2 winner in R1, I didn't imagine Udomchoke coul beat Ferrero, Melzer had a 4-2 record against Robredo and has been playing well recently so I went to him to cause an upset but he got slaughtered and unfortunately Baggy seems determined to lose to Monfils.

Baggy has taken the 3rd set now 6-2. Monfils' fitness is quite dodgy and he's got some problem with his heel which is affecting his mobility. If Baggy takes the 4th I can't see Monfils coming back to win a 5th set

10 from the 15 so far.

Ferrer and Udomchoke messed me up I'm predicting Baghdatis, but Monfils would be nice!

Second Round...

Baggy won the third...watching it on the eurosport stream....if Baggy can turn it around I will be 10/16...surprised as my top half it much worse for me than the bottom half...

Bottom half : I have only got 4 dead names and they do not appear in the 4th round.

Top Half : I have 6 dead names and 1 going on through to the QF (Ljubo).

Baggy playing like a donkey.....nets a simple FH over the middle of the net to hand another break to Monfils 4-0

Oh well 9-16..the most i could have got with my dead names would have been 10/16...so of those I could have got Im 9/10

That's a massive upset, Monfils played some great stuff at times tonight and his serve was on fire but Baggy was dreadful, made over 50 ues and his volleying was dire. It's been a poor start to the year for him - got hammered in Doha by Soderling, lost early last week and out in rd2 of the AO. Will he slip out of the top 20 ?

Well that's just the 10 today then. Luckily I had Gasquet beating Baghdatis next round. If he can do the trick against Monfils, I'll be alright (although Andy's ranking might not be).

Unfortunately I had ToJo beating Ferrer, and then going on to beat Stepanek, before losing to Ljubicic, so that segment is totally lost to me.

Position Name       Day1 Day2 Day3 total
1         Andyjmr    23   23   22 68
2=       Akhenaten 24   21   22 67
2=       RobC         23   24   20 67
4         Imoen       22   24   20 66
5         Vonce      21   22   22 65
6        Mkkreuk   24   18   22 64
7        John         22   21   18 61
7=       Steven     23   20   18 61
9         DavidC     18   20   22 60
9=       GC77        23   21   16 60
11       Drew       22   19   18 59

So, all of us by DavidC were stumped by JCF's loss.
John was the only one to predict a Baghdatis loss (except Mkkreuk but he got the winner wrong).
Just in case people didn't realise, those tied on points I've put in alphabetical order.As usual any matches you're curious about let me know.

Did I really get 10 right today? I thought it was only 9, but I haven't really had much time to concentrate on it today. Might be worth checking though, unfortunately - as if I wasn't doing badly enough already.

Well spotted, somehow I'd given you an extra 2 points. Sorry!

I'll double check everyone else's tomorrow when I'm doing the bottom half of the draw.
