Any chance of sending me a template asap if I send you my email address in a PM, Drew?

As I could do it and finish it by midnight for sure.

Or if anyone else could, it would be quite grand. As I'll be doing it in a text file if push comes to shove.

It's probably too late for this time, but if anyone wants a template, just click on http://www.xlw93.dial.pipex.com/2007AO.xls - it will start a download (the file has been virus-checked with Norton AV with up to date virus definitions - beyond that it's at your own risk, but that would be good enough for me to consider it safe!) which you need to SAVE (not open), preferably adding your name to the bit before the .XLS when you save it, and remembering where you saved it.

For each match, you then just need to put a 1 in the yellow box just to the right of the player you think will win and it will fill their name into the next round. (you can put 0 in the box for the other player or leave it blank) When you've done them all, just attach it to an email to Bethan.

It's so easy to do, you might like to give it a try anyway, even if you've already sent your picks in. If you do, let me know if you like it - if so, I'll produce the same sheet before the next time we do this, but a lot earlier! And David might like to use it as an easy way of converting any text predictions people have sent to Excel if he hasn't done it already.

Bethan - if you get many people submitting picks in this format, let me know - it would be fairly easy for me to set something up so that all the pick sheets are in one workbook with a blank pick sheet at the front. You would then just have to do the same (1 against the winner) on the blank pick sheet when the results come in and the scores would get calculated automatically.

Ok, thanks Steven.

David asked people to send the picks to him in the email so I've gotten some but others have gone to him, we'll argue between ourselves over who does the scoring but if you sent it to either of us then don't worry, you're 'in' as it were. If you haven't sent it at all yet, then get on with it!! You have until midnight...

Good luck all.

Spreadsheet updated at 20.47 GMT to correct a minor error in the note about how many picks you have left to make - doesn't affect any of the actual picks though, the processing for that was fine.

Alas, it didn't work for me but appreciative you made it, as it came up as a blank spreadsheet for some reason

I guess it'll have to be a text file then /o\

Oops, the update didn't upload properly. It should be fine now, and I've done all my own picks on it with no problems.

See above - after I did a small amendment, the upload failed and I didn't notice until later.

Now that it's done though, if we have one of these competitions again, I can upload it soon after the draw comes out.
