Jamie Murray isn't actually going to play doubles with James Auckland in Melbourne now. He's playing with Germany's Ben Becker, a pretty good choice I think. They could cause quite a few upsets.
The interesting question now is..who will Auckland team up with in the Aussie Open. He did well with Wayne Arthurs in ATP St Petersburg (made semis in the autumn) so that's a possibility. His regular partner is Jamie Delgado (ranked 107 in doubles). They may just make the cut, not totally sure about that though. It would be a bit of a gamble for Delgado but then again his girlfriend is also heading down under in Jan so that may influence things

That's a shame, but to be honest trying to play a grand slam as their first tournament together was a little silly. I would still love to see them play at least one tournament together though (if they can agree who will change sides).

According to Judy Murray Jamie will be teaming up with Jamie Delgado regularly after the AO, so I guess him and Aucks won't be testing out the partnership.
Please kindly update the list, if there is any! With nadal struggling, davydenko almost to miss as well as Nalby, andy could jump up another of places, ideally 13.
on a side note, i bleive the atp are going to be introducing much heavier fines for withdrals this season - thsi is to stop the type of thing that happened last year where players commited to events everyone knew they woundlt play, but of course it sold the tickets, then they pulled out. i dont know the exact rules, but it may be a kinda you are allowed so many pull outs b4 u start being hit, or it could be immeadiate.
there have always been fines for late withdrwals (and hgher ones for seeds), and on occasion i know of injured players traveling to the tounrmnates themslevs to sastify the tournemant doctor, but i think the fines will be much steeper now. it is also why some players retire from matches when they are losing if they do not want to play in the next event.
e.g pick up an injury in the final, and win, its very difficult to pull out of next week, but if u pick up the injury an retire cause u will know u will lose it much easier.
btw i am sorry for the awful typing in this post, but i am too tired to go back and correct it, my typign is not brill and add a laptop keyboard just makes it worse.

I think I mind reading about this on MTF. Something about how if you withdraw from two tournaments then one of your best 18 points tallys will go down as a zero. Further withdrawals will put more zeros in the points bracket. The exception would be that if you withdraw you won't be penalised prooviding you don't play for 30 days afterwards.
I don't know if that's true, but it's what I read. Seems pretty harsh though. Might have a look at the ATP site and see if they clarify.
edit - okay, had a look at the ATP rulebook and although I didn't go extensively into it, I couldn't see anything that relates to what was posted on MTF - just the fining system so that looks like it was a load of nonsense.
