Smethurst lost but did extremely well to take a set off Heliovaara. The score was 16 62 61.

Heliovaara is now ranked 26 in the world, compared to Smethurst's 887.


Hopefully he will be able to play doubles here and will get a good draw next week.

James teams up with Knights. Pauffley with Barnes. Smethurst with Jones.

Ed Jones lost in three sets to the guy who beat Barnes, so it's a decent result for him. A win would have been better.

Tom Knights gets an easy draw this time - a qualifier. He doesn't disappoint as he goes on to win 1 and 2.

Yeah, it is the quarters for him. He plays a Polish guy ranked 309 in the world.

The good news is that the third seed was out in the first round, so Knights will fancy his chances of making it to the finals.
