Josh Milton withdrew from all three events. That means that he should be playing in the Futures and Wrexham. I hope that he isn't injured. He has a good chance of getting a WC into Wrexham - he's Welsh! It may be that he has already been promised one.....
I hope that Dan will get a good draw. I'd love to see him play someone big like Klizan, Eysseric, Elias or Tomic after two rounds of tennis. Tomic may be too young to make a serious impact (you have to get a small shock every time you think that he is just 14 years of age and has a direct entry into the event. He should be the youngest direct entrant even into AO Juniors 2008), but he will recieve a lot of support and the faster courts suit his style, so he can surprise us with a run out here.
Michael Thomson is the 20th name in the qualies alternates list now. He should get in if he makes the trip. There will be plenty of withdrawals.
Edit: Milton chose to play elsewhere instead of Wrexham.
Dan Cox [73] plays Vladimir Zinyakov [57] of Russia at 10 a.m. on Court 8.
Graeme Dyce [44] plays Lazare Kukhalashvili [36] of Georgia after a doubles match on Court 14 with play starting at 11 a.m.
Zinyakov improved his ranking very fast towards the end of last year with runs in Orange Bowl and in Mexico. Dan hasn't played him but they happen to have a doubles title together. Zinyakov hasn't won a match in either of the two warm ups, but he got tough draws on both occasions. Apparently Zinyakov is a mini-Safin, he is of heavy built, plays in a similar way and even walks and behaves like Safin! All this is stuff I've read and hence I can't confirm it....
Kukhalashvili is a real star of the future. He is two years younger than Dyce but is ranked higher than him. He isn't playing well in Australia, which is a good thing for Dyce. He was out of action for nearly six months, so it's possible that he isn't back to his usual self.

I'm assuming it's best of 3 tie sets with no breaker in 3rd. Could anybody confirm this. Dan had 3 break points for 4-0 there, but didn't take any of them.

He must have taken another then, because he is now leading 4-0
Yeah, it went to deuce and Dan eventually took his 5th break point.
5-0 now.

Dan takes first set 6-0. What a great start to this Juniors tournament for the Brits.
