QR1: (q7) James Auckland WR 399 v (WC) Jeff Gast (USA) UNR

Boggo did not make it to San Jose in time for qualifying sign-in after missing out on a main draw DA by just one place, but Aucks is here to play doubles and may be able to take advantage of a surprisingly weak qualifying draw for a main tour event - the top seed in his section is ranked a lowly 355!

Aucks is 3rd on Court 18 on Saturday at about 20.00 GMT and the winner of his match is 6th on the same court at about 23.00 GMT to play QR2.

R1: (3) Andy Murray WR 13 v Kevin Kim (USA) WR 108

Andy will be 2nd evening match on the main court on Tuesday at about 20.30 PST, which is 04.30 GMT on Wednesday our time.

Such a shame Alex didn't arrive in time or get a DE, one away must be so frustrating for him, particularly if a lucky loser place opens up. Going to train and meet up with Gilbert sounds like a great idea though and hopefully Alex will get a positive experience out of it. I guess we'll just have to sharpen the pins for anyone above/below Alex!!

As has been said, Andy should breeze straight through to the semis, I don't want to call it either way beyond then. Hoping for Andy of course!!! (Murray for anyone wondering)

Does anyone else remember this time last year staying up during or getting up during the night to follw the scores.....Andy was in the 60's ranking wise and had a poor AO and we were all wondering how he was going to get on.....with every win we all either got more nervous or more confident !!!....I hope with Andy now so high in the rankings people will not forget how he got there....and what misery at times he put us through.....he is expected to win most matches these days so that is a major change....still following him here posting scores is the best way !

Go Murray !

Thanks Arka. So our boys are scheduled to meet in the semis but Huss/Auckland play the top seeds cermak/levinsky in round one. Hope they can pull off the upset.

Does anyone follow the doubles rankings closely, ie what does Jamie need to do to reclain the British top spot?

All the ATP break downs are messed up now, so I can't tell.

Can anyone else access them?

im not totally sure but unless jamie was defnding points this week, he's just overtaken Auckland in the rankings by a couple of pts. I think as things stand Butorac will be ranked something like 55, Jamie 59-60 and Auckland 60-61.

(Thats subject to pts being defended and other players ranking changes.)

No. Jamie will be ranked around 65 after his Dallas points are added. It can go down to 66, depending on Mertinak in Wroclow.

I was keeping a record of doubles points but there were a few errors and I deleted it, hoping to restart soon. Now the ATP site isn't working properly.

So jamie must be defending points then? THe doubles win gave him 55 ranking pts. He has 771 pts at the mo. adding 55 gives him 826 points. Auckland is ranked 60 with 824 pts.

Jamie wasn't defending anything, but his 14th best was something like 21. So he adds around 34 to his total.

Curse the ATP site.

Next doubles points to defend for Aucks and Muz are:

Aucks: 40 from San Jose QFs next week

Muz: 39 from GB Satellite in 2 weeks time

After that, Aucks has nothing to defend until the end of March and Muz has nothing to defend until the end of April.

Jamie drops them in three weeks time. As in, week of Indian Wells.
