Gimelstob is out. That improves Alex's chances of getting in.
Kiefer is another injury doubt.
Boggo badly needs a direct entry here. He'll miss it if he progresses deep into Wroclow (and I hope that he will) and there aren't enough withdrawals. Qualies sign in is on the previous Friday.

Yikes....it was only £5 for the whole of the AO !!!!!
Alex won't be able to make it in time for the qualies sign-in so we'll just have to hope that someone else pulls out. Hopefully Blake and Roddick have to play two marathon 4 hour plus 4 setters this weekend in the Davis Cup and withdraw with extreme exhaustion so Boggo gets in and things are easier for Andy to defend his title.
Qualifying draw will be made in the small hours of tomorrow morning. James Auckland is the only Brit likely to be there.
Btw, most of the San Jose matches next week are likely to be in the dead of night so if anyone like me wants to stay up and follow the action, here's a good tip for staying awake: pop down to your local supermarket and check out the biscuits section....you should be able to find some massive packs of Bettabuy chocolate digestives costing only 30p per pack and containing about 30 biscuits. Get 3 of these to make sure you're well stocked up and keep munching throughout the night. The high sugar intake will keep you awake . Worked a treat for me in 2006
