Opportunity For Scotland To Get A Tour Event.

ATP Palermo authorities sold the rights to Cleveland based company International Management Group (IMG).
If Scotland are really interested in hosting it, this is the time to act.

Here is one news article concerning that -

They say that Asia is the most likely destination for obvious reasons we were discussing the other day, but Bangkok and Bombay already have Tour events during that week, so the ATP should prefer Scotland if they are sure of getting good money there.

Well it's time for the likes of the LTA and the Scottish Parliment to act if this wants to come into fruition. Hopefully Andy can hold some influence to rally a call to get this to come our way. Fingers crossed.

Yep, and we should act fast, or else some other country will get it.

In case we don't get it, I would like to see it happen on grass (almost 0% chance, I know). Having a Tour event in Belgium would be nice too.

Imagine if the US got the rights.

IMO The Murrays will jump at this and will be making noises to the LTA....what a chance...we have to make a go of this....do it Glasgow...enough sites to host it and get the Scottish Exec behind it also....they are not bad at doing this....they are backing Glasgows bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2010 or something....

2014 actually as said

Plus far as I'm aware tennis might be in as a sport in the Commonwealth games for 2014. So it's another reason to build a good tennis arena or improve a current one in Scotland to be able up to ATP standard to host an ATP level tournament. To help us with our bid and all that.

True. Would be a farce if the US got it, they have enough tournaments as it is from ATP level down to futures
