RE: Kooyong exhibition

I haven't found a livescore yet.

Another board where I post has given this link for livestreaming: http://livevideo.betfair.com/?rfr=3290

I understand it is a betting site, and you have to register, but you don't have to bet. I haven't tried it yet.

Does anybody thoroughly understand how this works? I believe there are two groups of four for each round robin; does that mean that Andy will only play Ljubo, Roddick and Haas (unless he wins the group of course)?

Kooyong's not a round robin, else the finalists would have to play 4 matches, not 3.

The way it works is that the winner of Andy-Ljubo will be 'promoted' to play the winner of Roddick-Haas in one of the main SFs and the losers of these two matches will be 'relegated' to play each other in one of the 5-8th place SFs.

The same thing is then repeated - SF winners play in the Final, SF losers playoff for 3rd place, 5-8th SF winners play for 5th place and 5-8th SF losers play for 7th place. So Andy could end up facing any player from the top half of the draw in his third match.

I've used it before for another tournament. It works - the streaming isn't that good and you have to put up with them emailing you for ever afterwards, but it's probably worth it!

Wow, that's really cool Mad Thanks

With all these streams popping up and Andy playing mainly in Australia and the States over the next few months it's looking like quite a few of us will be joining steven in registering for IA (insomniacs anonymous)

Me, an insomniac? Noooo, I just grab my 4 hours of sleep per day at odd times.

Thanks for the explanation of how Kooyong works, Steven. I read somewhere that it was round robin and couldn't see how it worked at all!

Roddick beat Haas 6-2 6-3

Federer beat Stepanek 7-6(2) 6-7(4) 7-6(5) (looks like Fed was a bit rusty!)

Safin beat Nalbandian 5-7 6-1 6-2

So Andy should be playing now, but unfortunately the Betfair streaming has given up the ghost - nobody on MTF has been able to get it to work since the Safin match ended either.

Wow, amazing result , though as you say, a bit annoying that he didn't do that on Saturday and lose when no ranking points were at stake! I wonder if this means Andy's cold is better or that Ljubo wasn't trying too hard.

Duckboy up next for Andy, I think.

Good news. I never got the darn Betfair to work at all, I couldn't even manage to register, but I doubt I could have got up at that time anyway.

Interesting press interview with Andy on the Kooyong site.

So, he should meet Roddick next, yes?
