brillaint form murray, this was a real mental test like gonzo but diff in that lubo is more consistent and murray consistently put prtessure on his serve well done my son
Absolutely brilliant performance from Andy, he now faces the winner of the Djokovic - Gasquet match in the quarters. Djokovic won the first set on a breaker and Gasquet has taken the 2nd 6-1. Djokovic leads 1-0 on serve in the 3rd.
I'm hoping that Djokovic wins, I reckon Andy would have a better chance against him. But even, if it's Gasquet who wins, Andy must have a fantastic chance of reaching the quarters having just beaten one of the world's best indoor players

30-30 on the Gasquet serve
We want Gasquet to win rankings wise as if Djokovic wins Andy won't overtake him yet.
However I would like to see (well watch the scores) a match between Andy and Djokovic as they are both the up-and-coming young guns of the year.

The beeb man has just remembered he needs to add the last game so here it is:
Murray 6-3 Ljubicic There it is - an ace down the middle provides the coup de grace. Murray has beaten the world number three, and he did it with a hugely impressive performance. There's not a smile of either his face or coach Gilbert's, but you can bet they'll be happy with that.

So, Murray has beaten 2 players who were ranked 3 at the time he played them (roddick and ljubicic), roddicka gain (this time ranked 5th at wimbledon) and of course world number 1 roger!!!
Lubicic was pretty poor in the final set, basically a first serve and not much else. I expected to see a lot more mental strength from the world number three, however, Andy beat the belief out of him with some brilliant and very mature tennis.

not bad for your first full year on tour!
Just Nadal, Nalbandian & Davydenko to go for a full set!
Djokovic running away with the third set now and leads 5-1 and will serve for the amtch.
Murray vs Djokovic definitely sounds a better prospect than Murray vs Gasquet to me...though im sure he could give either a good match and beat them both when playing well..
And not to forget the wins over Hewitt [Wimbledon and US Open champ and former world no 1] and David Ferrer who's been in the top 10 aswell as that fantastic fightback over Gonzo. I reckon Murray would beat Davydenko on a fast surface [by the way I expect Joachim Johansson to beat Davydenko in rd2 tonight] and I reckon he'd have a very good chance against Nalbandian [though his best chance would come on outdoor hard]. He's also got Blake to beat to complete the set.
What a bizarre final two sets of Djokovic v Gasquet match. Gasquet steamrollered Novak in set 2 6-1 and then Novak won some tight games at the start of the 3rd before racing through to take it 7-6, 1-6, 6-1.

Did anyone see it ?
Apparently that court's not televised: the Sky commentators were frustrated that they couldn't show it.
What a fantastic result, and the game against Djokovic could be an absolute belter. Does anyone have a rough idea when the OOP for tomorrow will be out?
