Andy Murray's coach and former world number four, Brad Gilbert, believes the young Scot has the ability to become a top quality grass court player.
Murray's play on American hard courts this year has seen him tipped to be a future US Open winner, but Gilbert thinks Wimbledon is as likely a venue for a Murray Grand Slam.
"He (Murray) has the ability to return serve and move well." Gilbert told the Independent.
"It's sometimes a question of your mindset. At the moment he thinks grass is not his favourite surface, but as he gets older and more experienced I think he'll show how well he can play on grass"
"The thing that's surprised me more than anything is that I didn't realise his hands were as good as they are. He looks like he has the ability to become a great net player."
I don't think there's any doubt that he has the potential to be an excellent volleyer - he's already showing glimpses of it.
I think the only thing at the moment that is preventing him being a really great grass court player is his serve. Once that's more consistant then basically anything could happen but you can't afford to drop your serve four or five times in a match on grass.
From what I saw today I would have to agree with Gilbert. Andy served much better than usual and volleyed very well. From memory I don't remember him missing a volley although he didn't spend a great deal of time at the net due to Navarro being practically camped there. Murray even mixed it up with a spot of serve and volley which was a very successful tactic for him today.
