I think on outdoor murray would beat Ivan L. most times but indoor carpet hardcourt is his best surface. I watched ivan against gonzalez on eurosport in vienna final and he destroyed him.. too much power for gonzo and gonzo looked weak. But today was diff, wsnt really always from baseline but mainly murray at baseline and navarro at the net.
I think ivan will reach the final this week and if the draw permits play federer. But hopefully andy will do the bizz say wednesday is it
I agree, I think Murray's best chance v Ljubicic would be outdoors. Given their respective form in the summer, I think if they'd played on outdoor hard in August, Andy would have won in straights.
They've played once before, Ljubo won in 3 sets in Zagreb in rd1 in Jan. If Murray had been at his best in that match I think he would have won. Ljubicic was also off colour then and he's on fire at the moment, I think he'll win in 3 though I hope I'm wrong. Andy will cause him quite a few problems that's for sure.
Just copying my post from page 7 in case John and yesyesbadboy don't see it:
Yesyesbadboy and John: The Beeb say that Andy's got a new service action which his helping him get a higher percentage in, did you notice that ? From reading the commentary, he definately seemed to be getting more cheap points off his serve today than usual.
During the Davis Cup, I noticed that Andy was coming into the net so much more than in the past, and that definately seems to have been the case today, lots of points where he's finished things off at the net, and mixing it up and serve-volleying aswell.
It's great that Andy is starting to up the power levels from the baseline, he's got a lot of power at his disposal but so often in the past in matches he hasn't utilised it. That was the case in the US Open against Gonzo, once he started to really go for it and attack from the baseline, Gonzo had no answer.
yeh i responded to it already, memba i said to you that i didnt notice a diff action but just seems to be serving better. he mixes it up alot more, one flat hard, one slow well placed slice
But the power factor is down to muscle build and weights that brad has got him into. simple as- some shots jus fizzed with power like ivan and nadal but the court seems weird. in the air the ball travels then as soon as it is about to hit ground it bounces nice height and slows up
Only just read your post UBF, unfortunately I left for work almost immediately after the Murray match and didn't even get to follow the Henman match myself.

hmmm, i think that murray cna hover around top10ish or 13ish, going to be very hard now but the thing is , is that he has little ranking tourns to defend which means clay season could cover for alot of the americna hardcourt if he has a good run at french and oz open
