he played some excellent volleys in that game but it just wasn't enough and the U pair really pounced on his serve, he's really feeling it as well (some choice shouts after a double fault and the hanging of the head) which is fueling the U pair. I'm feeling very sorry for him because he looks like he feels the weight of the nation on his shoulders and it's making me wonder just how much pressure Lloyd has given him or he's put on himself, with the desire to prove it was the right desicion to replace Mackin with him, especially after his two loses last tie. this is where both Andy and Lloyd need to say to him 'don't worry, we're 2-0 up we have two more singles tomorrow and we're losing this match, just let go and relax and enjoy playing tennis'.

well U held serve after a long game with lots of bps. GB really should have won that one but there we go. Delgado had a good groundstroke rally, showing he both has groundstrokes and that they're pretty good.
3-2 on serve to ukraine. andy to serve next.

and Jamie is broken, this time to 15. a couple of ues from him and a grea passing winner from OU sealed that game. The Ukrainians are really targetting him and on his own serve he is crumbling more often than not.
Ukraine serve for the match at 5-3.

and Ukraine win as Andy sends a forehand very long.
the ukrainians deserved to win, they played better than the Brits and were much nearer in talent/form. I think that made a difference because it allowed them to concentrate on the opposition rather than on their own team if that makes sense.
hopefully Andy wins tomorrow in straights and allows Jamie Baker to play the dead rubber.

* Andy does not play enough doubles * NOT picking our best ranked doubles players is an error on the part of the Captain
Will they learn from this ?
It should have been Jamie Murray with Auckland out there...or something like that....!
I agree, but maybe it should have been Auckland/delgado or J Murray/Delgado or even A Murray/J Murray, an established pair because they just weren't gelling well as a team, there were points where it really clicked but a lot of the time they weren't sure enough or trusting enough of each other so were too distracted by that and couldn't concentrate on winning. the same thing happened when it was Andy/Greg against S&M. At the very least they should have practised playing together more.
