i take back what i said about YU being the most likely to be broken. OU was serving and three excellent points from the Brits set up three break points. the first was saved with an ace, the second not so lucky, OU tripped as he raced forward for the volley and sent the ball into the net. now we're only down one break in this set. let's see if Andy can hold serve!
1-3.

15-15, great point, Andy pushed OU (i think) further and further bak and wide with strong groundstrokes, forcing him to go down the line, where JD was waiting to hit the volley winner.
15-30 OU hits a volley winner by surprising the Brits and crossing over. 30-30, a passing winner goes wide, phew!
30-40, no idea what happened there, i though we'd won that point.
deuce, another well set up point from the Brits, this time JD set up the volley winner for Andy (off volleys, not groundstroke though)
game GB. that last game it looked like Andy and Jamie really clicked as a team, hopefull that is the case and it continues, they still trail a break 2-3 in the second but it's looking much more hopeful than it was a couple of games ago.

and he holds after going to deuce a couple of times. He did really well to hold there as he looked pretty nervous about it (he's only held once so far this match) and his volleys were suffering because of it but he pulled it out and that should give him some much needed confidence next time around, particularly as he saved two break points with some really good play.
4-3 OU to serve.

0-15, Andy's returns are just on fire today! 15-15 great point to watch, just a shame the Brits came off second best. 15-30 another great return and OU sends his response long. 15-40, you remember that point where both Us are at the net hitting smashes whilst the Brits sit at the back of the court getting to them when they really shouldn't? well it happened again and this time we won the point as one of the U's decided enough was enough and went wide.
two break points to level the match
both saved. one with a dropshot volley winner that meant we paid the price of both staying back.
game U JD nets the return and is really kicking himself (well the court really).

yu serving we were looking pretty good at 30-30 before YU comes up with two aces to take the game :furiuos:
interestingly, Jamie and Andy have swapped sides (i didn't know they could do that, i'm learning loads about doubles rules today!) so Andy is now playing the ad court. I presume this means JD will serve first in the set.
1-0

15-15 yu gets annoyed with the cross-court groundstroke contest happening between Andy and OU so intercepts the volley but sends it long.
30-40, and we break!!! promting simultaneous 'YESSS'es from both Brits!
YU is beginning to look very impatient, perhaps wanting to finish quickly to avoid the rain and becuase he's tired from his marathon v greg yesterday and is almost undoubtably going to have to play tomorrow, unless they lose today. but whatever the reason, he's making ues because of it and that can only help us!
