RE: Andy Murray Vs. N.Davydenko [RUS] (7)

THAT'S BETTER!!

The hammer and chisel seems to be working a bit!

I find it very difficult to post on here and watch the livestream, so I'll only be on occasionally. I'll read the thread through later. It seems to take forever for this page to load when I try, the livestream must be using up all my resources.

I dont know why, but i am as confident now as i was before the match that Murray will win. My calmness has barely flickered since the match started. I just think Murray is far better than Davvy on this surface especially and itll show in a best of 5 set match. Fitness isnt a worry imo.

Murray pressing home his advantage with a really comfortable hold:

15-0

30-0

40-0

Sounds like Dav has gone off the boil

Murray serving to consolidate the break in the second set at 1-6 2-1
15-0 Good serve and davy cant get the ball back in place
30-0 ACE
40-0 nice forehands and davydenko tamely nets
40-15 Murray backhand DTL just goes wide but at least he is going for winners now
GAME! ACE down the 'T'

murray leads 3-1 in the second set

(Bethan, you're correct the crowd are overwhelmingly in murray's favour and it is starting to help!)

3-1 to Andy

I agree, I think that Andy's extra shot variety and power from the baseline will tell. As it's fairly cool in New York today, hopefully fitness won't be a problem. With Andy having come unscathed from two 5 set singles matches in the last couple of months I now feel a lot more confident about his ability to last the distance without cramping.

If you pay a small fee to Eurosport you can watch live streaming of the US Open. It's had mixed reviews from posters, for some like mkkreuk it's worked really well but for others it's very, very slow.

Davydenko serving at 6-1 1-3
15-0. Quality of the tennis is improving and murray is run around the court and Davydenko finishes with a FW (forehand winner)
15-15. Davy backhand goes long
15-30.  Davy backhand goes long again
30-30. Murray nets after a long rally - he needs to keep the pts as short as possible
40-30. Powerful forehand to the corner and murray just about gets the ball back in playbut it is an easy smash for davy.
GAME! Murray backhand goes wide.

DAvydenko holds but murray still leads 3-2 in the second set

Davydenko holds to 30 and narrows the gap to 3-2. In the 1st set, he was holding to love and to 15 but now Murray's pushing him on every service game.

5 live update: "Murray showing what he can do when he gets 1st serve in, 3 unreturnable serves in that last game. Overend says that if he can get more of those in it will make a big difference."

Go to: http://www.eurosport.com/tennis/u-s-open/2006/

And where it says, US Open live and in video on eurosport.com above the main photo, click the subscribe button.

You'll need to have internet explorer 6 or higher for it to work
