RE: How Far Will Andy go at the U.S Open

I agree with Madeline. I don't think Andy's game matches up well with Gonzo's and I think that will be where he bows out.

I hope you are right - but it is best of 5 sets, remember. Over three sets I would favour Andy, no doubt.

Before the draw there were only 4 players in the whole list that I thought Andy might struggle against - unfortunately he is scheduled to play two of them in rounds 3 and 4 (the other two were Fed and Blake).

Despite that, I think Andy might be playing well enough right now to beat both Gonzales (who I personally think will be top 5 before too long) and Davydenko. I fear that this is entirely dependent on a very easy first two rounds, so here's hoping...

I think that Gonzales might be a problem, but I do think Andy can beat him...so long as he's at his best. I really hope he is.

The thing with Gonzalez is that he can basically beat anyone when he's on one of his hot streaks - if he's not on one then he's very beatable. I just don't think Andy's game matches up well with the heavier hitters, especially one with the forehand than Gonzo has. If he serves well, then that negates the best part of Andy's game (his returns).

I just don't like that match-up and have a hard time seeing Andy beating him, even in the form he's got just now. I hope to be completely wrong though, but I just can't see it.

First things first I want him to avoid the dangerous youngsters Korolev and Del Potro (assuming they win their final qual matches).

Have you heard about this Koellerer (playing Del Potro) guy? Apparently his antics on court are insane and he played Del Potro a couple of years ago and made him cry!

I also REALLY want him to avoid Josh if he qualifies, four brits in the main draw all playing each other would not be fun.

Well, Del Potro got his revenge tonight and beat him in straights. Del Potro must have only been about 16 at the time? There are some guys with issues on the tour...

I'd like to avoid Del Potrov and Korolev as well - although Korolev is a set down at the moment so he might be out the equation. I hope he doesn't get Josh (although I have a bad feeling he will - that just seems to be the way it;s been over the last few weeks.)

George Bastle or Noan Okun would be nice.

so its kendrick then, dont think it really matters really as at thisd stage u expect murray to beat any qualifier and to that note any one outside the top 50
