How Far Will Andy go at the U.S Open

So how far do you think he will go- there is a poll attached so feel free. Will he be rested in time, who will he face, will he make to 16 seeds with alll the withdrawals?

I think he will make QUARTERS- just need to see the draw as pple like nadal and seasoned pros like davydenko could beat him in the long haul like a 5 setter but in 3 its andy baby

Just want to add that my question got onto the marcelo rios bbc sport question thingy the one about young guns -- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/4790323.stm

What do you think of the young guns at the moment- Berdych, Monfils, Gasguet, and what do you think of Andy Murray?
Shane Roche, UK

I don't know the youngsters that much. I know them by name but I haven't been following the ATP circuit that closely lately. But from what I hear they are pretty good and hopefully more young guys will come up.

I think Federer is the best player though and he is going to be the best player ever and hopefully he will.

I saw Murray play Massu at Wimbledon but I don't know him that much. Was I impressed by his game? No.

Nice question, but not liking Rios`s response.

I reckon Andy will make the QF too, provided the draw is good.

I'm gonna wait untill i see the draw, but if he moves into the top 16 seedings he could well make it into the quarters or semis (especially if his quarter of the draw is weak...kind of like ljubicic's draw at the French Open....). Here's hoping he gets a good draw surrounded by a bunch of clay courters!

It's impossible to predict at this point. He could draw Marat Safin in the first round who can blow anyone off the court on his day. He could get Soderling or Wawrinka who have both caused him problems.

I would just be looking for an improvement on last year - anything else is a bonus.

Seeing the draw i think andy will reach the semis. Gonzo will be the Crunch tie but i think with a bit of rest (that Gilbert has said he can have) Murray will come out firing and as he favours the us open surface i can see him pulling that one out the bag. DAvydenko would then be his most likely opponent and nikolay isn;t having a great time of late though he is running into a little bit of form this week, but i generally think Andy is better, and in a richer vein of form. Next he'd probably play one of Rochus/Ginepri/Haas/Safin or Nalbandian. I think at the moment he can handle all of them as they aren't playing at their potential.

Then would most likely come the fedexpress! Fed played badly at cincy and over three sets it was too much to come back from. Over five sets i think he'll just be too good. I'll be surprised if andy could get a set of him though i'd be pleased if he could:

a) reach this stage
b) Prove me wrong

OK, having seen the draw, I have guessed that he will trip up over Gonzo, who I think could have too much power for him.

I'm a pessimist. That way I'm never disappointed.

Desperately hoping to be proved wrong. . .
