Murray holds - a more assured service game from the British number one.

Murray 7-6 (7-3) 1-1 Ginepri
Murray produces a blistering return to make it 0-15. Ginepri, scrambling well, brings it back to 30-30 with some weighty ground-strokes before Murray produces an angled backhand to make it deuce. However, Ginepri holds, finishing off the game with a forehand volley into the open court.

Murray 7-6 (7-3) 1-0 Ginepri
Murray somehow managed to win the first set despite only getting 24% of his first serves in. No-one tell that to Robby. Murray holds serve to move into an early lead in the second set.

It sounds like Ginepri's plan is to come into the net a lot more to finish off the points as Andy's scrambling ability is so good and if Ginepri just stays at the baseline trading blows the odds are that he's going to come out second best that way.

I don't think he attacked the net that much in their Bangkok match

Lol, yeah at least Andy has a reliable 2nd serve. I wonder what Brad would say if Andy started wailing "I hate my serve" mid-match like Dementieva often does, lol

Another close game on the Ginepri serve, the American just holding on at the moment.
He has advantage.

It speaks volumes for Andy's baseline game that he can serve at less than 30% for a whole set and only be broken once and face just 3 points, especially against a hard-hitter like Ginepri.

The reports from guys who've watched Murray matches in recent weeks are that he's placing his 2nd serve a lot better and also maybe going for it a bit more

Ginepri angles a forehand volley wide before sending a forehand well long. Murray is just happy to bunt the ball back and let his opponent make the mistakes. However, Ginepri grinds things out and gets back to deuce and Murray hands him the game with a wide forehand.

OMG, what happened in that last game !!! It's been comfortable for Andy on serve so far in this set and then suddenly Ginepri breaks to love in a flash

He leads 3-2.

C'mon Andy, time to break now in this set

Ginepri jumps into a 0-40 lead and Murray launches into a rant. Murray then gets an unfortunate net cord and Ginepri goes a break up.
