That was so close.......so close,I hope Andys next match is on later in the day, and he has bottle of iron brew with him, win ugly, sounds like Brad is just the man
It was 40 degrees, Andy was literaly out on his feet from the start of the 2nd set yet somehow he got the W.
Andy starts the interview by breathing very hard. He fealt ill at the start of the match with the heat, he thinks that it is unacceptable to be tired in the first set of a match. Andy intends to drink a lot tonight, good Scotsman that he is. He finishes the interview, still breathing hard.
I can't blame Andy for being tired in this match. His game requires a lot of energy for virtually every point and this is the 13th match in 16 days.
Now listening to the one of favourite Queen songs, Don't Stop Me Now, although, it would have been Kaiser Chiefs, I Predict a Riot if it had went to a 3rd set tiebreak!
Hopefully on Sunday I'll be listening to another Queen classic in We Are the Champions!
I think that for now I'll settle for Spencer Davis Group's "Keep on running".

There'll be plenty of that in the next couple of weeks I think, next week Brad plans to take Andy to a bootcamp for some hard physical training ahead of the USO.
I'd say Chela really as Andy has a point to prove against him considering the way he lost to him in the Aussie Open and I'd have no doubt Andy would beat him. Roddick will more than likely win the match but i'd rather him play Chela for my reason above. As Roddick is old news Andy already beat him twice

Andy would have to go out in the next round and Ferrero get to the final for that to change (if I have worked it out correctly despite my state of exhaustion!)
That was a great win - he could have very easilly shut up shop when he went the break down in the third and thought 'I've had a final, a semi and beat Fed in three weeks - I could do with a break.' but he fought through it. I am so proud of him - that was all bottle there. A gutsy, gutsy win and he should be delighted. I don't know how many matches that is that he's played in these three weeks - but you wouldn't see many guys slog it out like that.
I hope it's Roddick in the next round - the points will be shorter in that match and Chela will basically make him run around all day. I think he would have an easier time against Roddick, although to be honest I don't see how he can win tomorrow.
Great effort Andy - all guts and you left it all out on the court. No one better doubt your commitment now.
A week ago Andy hadn't got beyond the 2nd round of a Masters series event. It is his capacity for making a leap forward and following it up with another step forward, most people wouldn't be able to do that.
Andy did get a fair bit of help in this match. I think Ginepri had mentally writen Andy off and then when the fight back came he got tight and he made a mess of several promising situations. Andy's defence was desperate and relied heavily on his powers of anticipation but he managed to frustrate Ginepri enough to draw errors out of him.
I hope Roddick wins now so that Andy gets an evening match. Not great for live coverage but he really needs the recovery time.
