Andy has the best record so far in the hardcourt season!!! Despite not winning any titles he has a semi (newport), a final (washington) and at least a quarter final here! A great run!

Newport was not hardcourt... but who cares! Go Andy!

Oh of course! I forget that....then in that case he has the best post wimbledon non clay record! is that better?

yeh thats better, well im wondering - i think at 4/1 with the bookies 2-1 to jarkko

sounds good what do u lot think- obviously i think andy will win but jarkko is a seasoned pro who is 14 in the world or around and he is a real professional . I doubt andy will get as many faults and mistakes from him so andy will have to reduce his faults

dramatically, 7 or so yesterday

Still on track for 6pm BST start as Gasquet has just won the first set of the prior match.

and Gasguet is a break up on Berdych. Dam. Surely of the 2 that could possibly play Andy we would want Berdych because he is mister incosistent and would probably get fustrated by Andy always getting in the extra ball while Gasguet rivals fed at his best.

I agree, but I think for those very reasons it will be Gasquet who wins this match.

Gasquet is a bit inconsistant himself - and the good thing with Gasquet is that he's not going to serve or hit Andy off the court like Berdych could do if he was on form. If Andy wins, and it's not 100% that could happen, I think the match-up between Andy and Gasquet is pretty even because their game is pretty similar apart from Gasquet's unbelieveable back-hand. If Andy stays away from that then he would have a chance.

Now I mustn't mention the 'C' word but I have cleaned out and emptied the industrial vacuum cleaner in anticipation that it may have a LOT of work to do after the match today.

As they are evenly matched I'm expecting more than a few hair tearing moments!

Murray against Gasquet would be a potentially cracking match as Gasquet looks like he is playing well again. That backhand is a shot of unbelievable beauty.

Getting nervous now. SSX is just finishing showing the Moya match.

Can I ask what 'lool' means?

Is anyone watching and willing to give commentary?

Murray serves first.

Sloppy backhand into the net followed by a double fault. Made up for it with an ace but Jarkko came back strongly and volleyed for 2 bp. Andy saved the first one with a good serve and did exactly the same on the second one.

JN then challenged a ball that went wide by perhaps a millimetre - scary. He hit back to level it at deuce again with a massive return.

Murray got a second advantage with a good passing shot that JN couldnt get back in, and took the game when a JN return bounced up off the net but onto his own side.

JN serving. 0-1

Big forehands from Murray won him the first point but JN made it 15 all with a smash. Terrific return from Andy to make it 15-30 but failed to convert a good chance and let JN back in. AM then hit a forehand long and couldn't handle a big serve down the middle.
