Good thing is that hes able to find a way to win matches even though hes not serving that great. Well done Andy 1st QF in masters series, continue the charge to the semi finals
Another good thing is that murray showing consistently in the second half of the season! 4th round at wimbledon, Semis at Newport, Final at Washington and Quarter finals on his debut in Toronto! I know its unrealistic but IF (a big IF) he gets to the final, do you think he might miss cincinatti masters or is it mandatory. According to his schedule he's playing till the US Open.
EDIT: i assumed he was playing till the US Open, but just checked his schedule and he only playing the cincy masters and have a well deserved rest regardless what happens next week! (not reallY)
Andy's most aggressive performance by some distance. He took the initiative point after point, aggressive on the return, striking his forehand with real power, attacking the net to put away volleys. Despite 7 double faults, the occasional extraordinary blunder, and a failure to serve out the match, he simply outclassed Carlos Moya.
This was a deserved straight sets win for Murray, sustaining a level way above his recent performances against Clement, Ferrer and Henman. Moya tried to use big first serve and huge forehand to dominate but Murray's return was too good and poor Moya was left winning just 53% on first serve.
Andy took control of the first set having missed an early chance to break as Moya struggled to get enough first serves in play and created the just the one break point chance in the set.
The second set started with Murray on top 30-0 but a double fault then a failure to put away the easiest of shots at the net made it 30-30. Moya dominated with aggressive forehands to reach break point then an unreturned second serve was challenged by Moya with the ball called as out resulting in a double fault and a break for Moya.
Andy turned on the power to break back for 2-2 then again to reach 5-3. But serving for the match he found Moya on the attack, forcing Murray on the defensive and despite four first serves out of six, he failed to cope with the extra speed on the Moya forehand who deservedly broke back. Serving 4-5 down Moya looked comfortable at 30-0 but four errors gave Murray the victory.
For once Andy made a real effort to win the points rather than rely on his opponent's errors. He moved Moya around the court, firing forehands crosscourt into the space left by Carlos who looked to protect his backhand side. With Moya seemingly uncomfortable at the net, Andy used the drop shot to good effect.
The only downside to such a performance is the change in expectation it will bring. This was top 10 tennis.

All the masters are mandatory, so if Murray misses it then he will have to replace his 18th result with a 0.

Gotta hope that Gasquet takes care of Berdych - Andy and Tomas have 'issues' IIRC so that could be an intriguing and fiery match-up. Providing, of course, Andy can beat Sanguinetti or Nieminen tomorrow that is.
I'm pretty sure they had a bit of verbal during one of their matches - Berdych wasn't happy with Andy or something and they kept firing balls at each other and glaring at each other. I can't remember the details but I'm sure it was Berdych that it happened with. I know something similar happened with Soderling (although that was mostly after the match in that instance), but I think it happened with Berdych as well.
I could be completely mistaken but I do remember something like that happening and I'm sure it was the Berdych match at Basle.
