Andy has hit 3 errors in this game, not under a lot of pressure, trying to go for an winner and missing, exactly the kind of thing Ferrer was doing.


Finally an error from Ferrer, he hit the bottom of the net with a second serve return.


Andy finishes the game with a powerful ace.

15-15 Andy was on the run, sideways and slightly backwards, Ferrer was closing in on the net and somehow Andy managed to hit the Spaniards trainers with the bh.


Then he follows it with a sloppy shot into the net.

Phew.. you hung in there Andy.. well done, could have come a cropper there, but you live to fight another day.. bring on consitancy to your game, and your a natural winner.

Tiebreak


Mur - Fer


0-1 Long rally, Andy dug himself out of trouble, then ran out of ideas and hit the middle of the net


1-1 Ferrer framed one


1-2 Ferrer served into the corner and hit the next shot to the other corner


2-2 Ferrer missed long just. The umpire over ruled


2-3


3-3 Andy went for broke and the umpire over ruled again. Ferrer didn't like it


4-3 minibreak to Andy. Ferrer missed trying to going for the sideline


4-4 Good play from Ferrer. Andy was determined to get the center ground and Ferrer hit the ball behind him.


Andy shouted "That's so far in" a couple of times". I dont know why.


5-4 another error from Ferrer, going for a winner on the other side line.


5-5 Andy hits the net. That looked like his kind of point lots of slice bhs but he missed one.


6-5 Andy went for broke on the second serve return and missed.


6-6 Wow. Ferrer was battering the ball into Andy's backhand corner and getting more and more damage then Andy pulled out a bh lob as Ferrer was advancing on him. Ferrer got back to the smash but couldn't get any power and Andy hit a clean winner.


7-6 What a first serve. Ferrer could only get is frame to it. Match point 4.


8-6 Andy wins. Not a good time to hit a double fault.
