Stew B, head over to the 'Andy's ranking' thread for details about what it'll do. In short, that match means the number of points Andy has will increase, he will move two places higher from last week to 33. At the moment. There are still two players who can overtake him this week pushing him back to 35 (where he is). However, by reaching the final, he could move higher up the rankings. As I said head over to the rankings thread where we monitor it every day and ask any questions there.

Thanks for that, I did actually check the "Andy's ranking" thread but when I did, the most recent post (in "Andy's Competitors Week 31") was at the time over 6 hours ago, and I was hoping that somebody who was on the ball, regarding the ranking points, etc could give me an answer before I went to bed. I have actually got some questions as to how the rankings work, but I'll post them later on in the appropriate thread.
What a fantastic win for Andy and what a turnaround after the rain delay, winning 8 out the last 11 games. I wonder what Brad said !
Andy still needs to improve his serving though, his 1st serve was only at 40% yesterday. He's winning 88% of his 1st serve points though so if he can maybe increase the accuracy by 15-20% he'll win his service games so much more easily. The big difference from looking at the stats was that in the 2nd set Andy really punished the Lopez 2nd serve.
"It was a different match when we got back - the ball was a lot slower.
"But as long as you are sharper than your opponent, you will make the better start."
Typically Andy reckons Fish has the advantage going into their quarter-final: "It'll be a difficult match. Mardy finished five hours before me. He'll get more time to rest."
