Sorry, I went offline to watch the match! Computer not near tv.
I have recorded the first 2 days and will hopefully record tomorrow as well. I'm off on holiday in a couple of days, but anybody wanting DVD's of the tie, PM me in a couple of weeks' time and I will do it.
u what makes be real mad..some of the teams that are in teh world group..lets me list someMexico??Korea rep.RomaniaBrazilCome on these teams have no one real good on there teams..how are they in it...not fair
It's simple and perfectly fair - Dont lose matches !
Take a look HERE for world group and zones and then select individual countries to see sucessful teams and previous results and you will undestand.
I think what is most frustrating for me is that I can imagine what a team involving Andy, Tim and Greg could achieve in the Davis Cup and that bugs me. Partly because Tim would rather sit at home than play at the very least a doubles rubber, and partly because Andy is just two years too late in terms of arriving on the scene. We obviously aren't good enough to be in the World group as it stands, but we should be.
Good effort from Andy and Jamie today - they played well and they probably should have won but Erlich and Ram aren't ranked as high as they are in doubles because they give up and die when it gets tough in the latter stages of a match. I thought Jamie, in particular, had a great match and I think the pair of them should be pretty happy with their efforts. The final game was a pleasure to watch and sometimes it is as simple as going out there, giving your best and just not having enough at the end of the day and I think that's what happened today. It's easy to break it down to Andy missing the BP chance to make it 5-2, or Jamie missing a return on the 2nd serve when they had 0-40, or any other of turning points but I think that's maybe over-simplifying it. I just think they went out, gave it everything and came up short. No blame, no criticism - just a good effort that didn't get any reward. The funny thing is that it would have been better if they had just went out and lost in 3 to save Andy's legs for tomorrow - but hindsight is great.
I must say I am concerned about how Andy will play today. He is not used to 5-set matches, and to play 2 gruelling ones in 2 days must have taken it out of him. Plus that problem he seemed to be having with his neck towards the end of the match. . .
I shouldn't be surprised if he loses to Okun today - Noam will be nice and fresh and there is not nearly as much pressure on him, as I think Israel would be fancying their chances if it goes to a fifth rubber.
With Andy's doubts of playing against Okun due to his sprained neck, Boggo also struggling with a groin injury. so if it does go down to a decider then delgado will play the 5th rubber.
so i guess delgado to play okun, the if he wins alex to play ram? but if alex is injured maybe mackin will step up? we should have the benfit of ram having played 10 sets iover 2 days.
if its dead i guess alan will play.
can jamie beat okun? i think so, he has just got to assert himself right from the start.

Does anyone want commentary? Let me know if you do. My internet keeps coming and going but I'm happy to do it whilst I can!
Jamielost the first set 63. His first serve percentage is only 35% which isn't helping, other than that he's playing well, finding the lines and some excellent net play.
Israel just broke in the second set to lead 2-1. (grr, I hate the way commentators praise when things are going well and critise when they're not) Unfortunately Okun seems to have relaxed and opened up having won the first set and is playing very well indeed, he has a super forehand, it's a real weapon.
Mackin looks to be the one who will play the next match, he is not watching and Boggo is. Plus the commentators have said so. This either shows Bates thinks Delgado will lose and it will be a dead rubber or that he doesn't have confidence in Alex, either way I don't think the decision should have been made so soon, unless of course Alex is injured.
Andy is sitting courtside with a neck brace on!

What a turn around!! Delgado dropped the 1st two sets. i gave up on the match, come back two hours later, and we in a fifth set wih delgado leading by a break 2-1!
Delgado loses. Can't fault him though, don't think he could have given any more. I was very doubtful when he was included in the team but he has proven that he deserved it even though he lost both his matches. Well done Jamie.
