RE: Wimby R3: Murray vs Roddick

First two break points of the match, Andy has hit three errors in this game.

Andy saved both with strong if slightly risky play. Deuce.

Another error, another bp. Andy got Roddick running and finnished at the net.

Roddick dumped a couple of shots in the net to let Andy take the game. Andy must cut down his errors though.

Andy has started yelling at himself, he is not happy with the number of errors. He is not going to break serve if he can't keep the ball in play.

Macenroe suggests going for a foot in side the line instead of right on the line. I think that is very good advice.

It's very quite on here is everyone still watching the football?

Andy is not happy with the grip on his racket, in fact he appeared to aim some pretty aggressive swear words strait at it. I don't know why he doesn't change it for another one.

First set point, Andy holds with a strong first serve.

Then the stupid drop shot reappears and it is the second set point. What a point!!!

Another stupid drop shot, a bit of back and forth at the net and by the skin of teeth Andy survives in the set.

A couple of decent serves and it is 5-5 aaand breethe.

Roddick holds to 15. We need this to go to a tiebreak.

15-40 again. And of course a drop shot, Andy just gets the reply back. The second set point is saved with a fh onto the line. I think that is 7 break points saved.

Andy seems to play with out fear when he is staring down the barrel and then he is wracked with self doubt on a normal point

6-6

Tiebreak

0-1 A bad linecall robs Andy of a winner

1-1 Arod got Andy on the run and missed the volley

2-1 Murray hit the baseline and Arod lost the flight of the ball

3-1 Great winner from Andy

3-2 Ace. No surprise there.

4-2 Unreturned serve.

5-2 Good heavy hitting from Andy and for once a decent drop shot.

5-3 Good first serve pushed Andy back and Roddick eventually broke through

5-4 Unreturned serve

6-4 Good serve and fh combination

7-4 More strong play and Roddick misses

Set conversion rate: Roddick 0/4 Murray 1/1

Andy holds to luv. There was a lot of distraction at the end of the first set with the drowd listening to the football on radios. Andy did well to ignore it. Groin stampers United went out on penalty's, that may please Andy but then again it may not

Andy seems to have forgotten about the problems with his racket, maybe he changed it.

15-40 finally Andy has two break points. Two big aces from Roddick

Andy had a chance there. Roddick was getting down on himself.

Roddick holds to 15 that serve is brutal and Andy is going to need to work very hard to break it.

Another bp of silly errors, second serve, and Roddick dumped a slice bh in the net. Roddick is not making any impression on Andy's second serve and he really should be attacking it.

Again Andy won a couple of points but couldn't get any closer. Frustrating.

It felt like there were a lot of second serves in that game but some inspired lobbing got Andy through.
