Hallelujah, he did it . I have been following though not having time to post, and I'm not sure I breathed at all during that second set.

I should have gone out 15 minutes ago, I suppose I can always blame traffic. . .

Nice work Andy - helped out a little by Dmitri's erratic ground strokes in the second admittedly but he managed not to get broken (which is a nice change) and seemed to be playing some good tennis.

Mirnyi will be tough, but it's a very winnable match. :)

Hmmm, Alex Bogdanovic did manage to get one set off him, so maybe the next opponent might be ok (this is based on Alex not being much near Andy's class)

Great win for Andy. If the ankle is okay he should beat Max.

2 more wins and he will be British number 1 for Wimbledon

Just in from a hard day's work, and came straight to this board, cos' I couldn't face the BBC one should Andy lose.... and I didnt need to worry Hurra' well done Andy, when you lose so many first round matches, it can be hard to maintain your equilibrium... congratulations to all who kept the faith !!

Cheers

Geo.

Even if he has to pull out because of the ankle this was an excellent week for Andy. Winning a match (on grass) should remind him that he can and hopefully bode well for Wimbledon.

I really hope the press doesn't blow it out of proportion and expect him to win the thing now though.
