NB A slight shame, maybe, that the ITF are pushing so hard for the new format, and nearly all the other events have switched over, but Liverpool is still using the old format - there are good reasons for the new format, it's proving popular, and not difficult to implement - strange that they didn't try it

Round robin is not feasible this week as they are hosting a TE at the same time.

Round robin is a more secure option for guaranteed games and organising accomodation and better value for money.

Why not feasible because of the TE?

There are a similar number of matches to organise in the new round robin format

And even if not - why would they chose to set it up so they couldn't? That's my point - why chose a set-up where (perhaps) it wasn't possible?

32 singles and 8 doubles matches finished at 10.10pm last night.
There wasn't any girls doubles scheduled.
I left at 7.30pm and Lucy Bear had only just started.

There are 16 TE matches to schedule today on top of the knockout matches

6 courts, no indoor practice courts available.

First win of the day goes to Naina Kapoor, who was too solid for Millie Ryder.

Tess Beard easily beat an error stricken Elizabeth Rimmer and Katie Randall came through in straight sets against another good junior in Sienna Grace.
The Ukranian girl based out of Delgado & Lee came through against Sophia Florence. Sophia is very tall for her age and her sister won this morning in TE as did Rebecca Szeto, with both siblings here.
Aadar came through confortably against Eisha.

Katie looks the best player on show this week, but the weekend comp might impact her in the next few days

katie R looks better than Pui Yin Lung?

I thought Pui Yin was looking very good in Glasgow last week - I would have put her as the clear favourite

But interesting to hear that katie looks even better - encouraging
