My livescore page has Mark with a tick for having won - but the score showing he lost in 3 sets - I'm guessing the score is more reliable but I've no real basis for this

I also thing Rhys and Mark have pulled out of their doubles too - but again it's not clear on the site

 Our posts crossed (or I took a long time checking).  Anyway in the last few minutes ITF has Mark/Rhys through by w/o rather than withdrawing

Dani+ have given a walkover in doubles - don't know the reason, as both are in the US Open main draw. Anna Pircher did not play singles, despite being in the acceptances, so might be nursing a niggle. Hollie and the boys doubles are later tonight.

The 4th seed, Sushova, is a far stronger prospect that the 2nd seed (IMO)

But it's a great week for the British contingent, no matter what happens now - two players in the boys semis, two players in the girls semis, a GB pair in the boys doubles final and a GB pair in the girls doubles semis who would have had an excellent chance of maing the final but had to withdraw 

Looking like a great week for the Brits this week, well done to them all so far!

 Personally, I don't think of Hannah as our junior number one

She doesn't play juniors and hasn't done so for over a year now 

 

I realise that re Hannah and her junior ranking. Nonetheless, I guess reaching number one officially would be a milestone for Dani - or maybe it wouldn't - regardless of Hannah's situation. i.e. the junior rankings get posted each week on here and show Hannah as number one with no asterisk saying "not really" , so if and when Dani takes over that spot, I guess it has some meaning if only from a being top of the ladder perspective. If the point of the list is to show where players are ranked, then Dani going to the top has some meaning, however asterisked it may be!

In the 40 year history of the event there have only been 3 British winners - most recently Mimi Xu (2023) and before that Marcus Willis (2008) and Andy Murray (2003). Mimi's win was in the only all British final so far (against Hannah Klugman) and there are two chances of achieving a second one this evening.

It won't be an all-British boys final though as Mark has just lost. The two finalists will be the recipients of the Special Exempts for the US Open
