When did Bates get so involved with Mika?

Last summer when she graduated from the National Academy and moved on to the Pro-Scholarship Program. On the PSP, the LTA will decide whether to allocate a LTA coach in place of a portion of the funding.

First post for me but have followed the forum for a while.

Excited to be going tomorrow so will see Dani play and maybe some of Rhys before the senior stuff.

Will be an awesome day to see another Surrey boy going far

Dani has a lot of power on both forehand and serve. Really goes for her second serve. Needs to keep up the intensity and focus in the points as a few shots going into net unnecessarily.

She has an issue with one of her hands though after an early slip.

Overall a very strong and impressive 15 year old
4-5 down in first after being broken

Dani got the first set in the tie-break but not much is going her way in the second set 7-6(4)  1-5

Both players have played really poorly, IMO, for the whole of the match

The number of errors is horrendous, and the lack of dynamism - it looks like they're wading through mud

Into a third

Next year is A-Levels for Mika so this was meant to be a more tennis focused year with next year being more about exams

Dani will be extremely disappointed with that match

Maybe it was because of the heat, but both girls were playing horribly

Dani hit over 50 UEs

Anna not many less (although she wound it in a bit towards the end, which was intelligent)

Everything was so slow and laboured

It looked more like a J100 than a Grand Slam

Don't think it was her left hand either, because it was the running, the footwork, and the armspeed that caused the errors - indeed, she ended up slicing all her backhands (i.e. using just her left hand)

But, hey, it's done, she did well, but this is really a match where Dani failed to turn up and get going, and that was a real shame, as so did Anna (to a lesser extent)

She needs to put all that behind her for now and look forward to her doubles with Edie.
