Rhys Lawlor is one of my little faves - but he's got a very hard draw
As has poor Vincent who is playing now - he's doing pretty well against the top seed, making a match of it, some acrobatics, Miguel looking a bit irritated at times, but the top seed has the match unless a real upset happens
Liam Channon is Mick Channon's son, if you ever used to follow Southampton in the footie
I don't think that Liam is Mick's son. There may be a family connection but Liam's father is Sean Channon.

Indeed - from Google
There is no publicly available information indicating that former England footballer and racehorse trainer Mick Channon is related to the young tennis player Liam Channon. [1, 2]
While Mick Channon has a son involved in sports, his children are named Jack (who took over his family racing empire) , Micky Jr. , and Nicholas , rather than Liam. Liam Channon is a British tennis player who signed to play for the Purdue Boilermakers men's tennis program.

sorry !
I blame Jon - I'm sure it's him who put it up here once and I took it as Gospel - I blame him entirely !

It almost certainly was me! But as you see above, I have changed my religion!
Great win for Rhys over a strong player, continuing the trend of Roehampton boys champion losing in the first round (Oli Bonding was the one last year). I feared that Michael Antonius was getting into Rhys's service games in the middle of the second set, and would be a strong threat in the third, but instead it was Rhys who broke early, and looked comfortable on serve after that, finishing with an ace

A second British win, as Mark edges a close contest 7-5 4-6 7-5
Lots of good hitting from both, though Mark nearly paid for being overaggressive at times with his second serve (one of those that missed was 119 mph) because of the pressure he was under.
