Most of the Brits in qualifying are highly outranked, so unsurprisingly only Liam Channon and Leah Bush have made it through so far to final qualifying (some girls' matches still to finish in the qualifying venue in Surbiton)

Leah got a tad lucky as she had been drawn against the top q seed (Maggie Sohns)

But Maggie must have got promoted to the main draw and so Leah had a GB alt

Liam Channon won his FQR, 1-6 6-4 10-7

He's been playing well recently - surprised people, I'm told, in the nationals, with how well he'd progressed

Just for recollection, and comparison, as the grass season is 'our' season, and so short

In 2025, at the J300 Roehampton, this is where our players got to:

Girls:

R3 x 1 (Meg Knight)
R2 x 2 (Dani Piani, Edie Griffiths, Brooke Black)

(All the rest lost in R1)

Boys:

Winner - Oliver Bonding

(All the rest lost in R1)

Edie and Vincent both win in two

I expected Edie to win, but Vincent was playing the 11th seed which is a bit more of an ask

Well done to both

Annabel went on to lose in straights, but Edie and Vincent are the first British winners, Vincent scalping a seed, albeit the Peruvian was playing his first ITF on grass.

Tegan got an easy two-set win too - over the Spanish 10th seed

But Billy lost

Mark joins Vincent on the boys side

Dani B and Sophie Bekker are both a set up and going well
