Boys & Girls: J500 Milan, Italy, clay (Week 20)

The Trofeo Bonfiglio is the strongest ITF Junior event outside the Grand Slams, with Mark Ceban and Hollie Smart only just gaining direct entry.  Rhys Lawlor and Ophelia Korpanec-Davies both lost in final qualifying, but Ophelia picked up a Lucky Loser slot. Mark has a rematch against the South African he beat at the Australian Open.  Ophelia takes on the Chinese player who knocked Daniella Britton out last week - she went on to reach the final, losing out to Daphnee Mpetshi Perricard.

Tomorrow Mark is second on Centre (first match 14 9am BST) with live scores available here  and a stream for that court here

Boys R1 (L48)

Mark Ceban v Connor Doig (RSA)

Girls R1 (L48)

(LL) Ophelia Korpanec-Davies v Yu Jun Lin (CHN)

(LL) Ru Xi Wu (CHN) v Hollie Smart

I watched a bit of Ophelia's first match today - and she was playing nicely - toughed out the end well

Obviously she lost in the next match, which I didn't see, nor Rhys' (they've only got 2 courts on livestream, or only have two for the qualis)

Dani Britton withdrew from this event (and next week's) so may well be injured - hope she's OK for RG

Ceban's match is on one of the two livestreams

But he's 2-6 0-2 down

Mark retrieved the break but still went down. His day didn't get any better as he also lost in doubles (as did Rhys+ and Ophelia+). Hollie is up first and Ophelia second tomorrow on unstreamed courts, as far as I can tell

Boys R1 (L48)

Connor Doig (RSA) d. Mark Ceban 6-2 7-5

A very disappointing tournament from a British perspective, with the sole victory so far being from Hollie+ in doubles who play the second seeds in round 2

Girls R1 (L48)

Yu Jun Lin (CHN) d. (LL) Ophelia Korpanec-Davies 5-7 6-2 6-2
(LL) Ru Xi Wu (CHN) d. Hollie Smart 6-3 6-4
