Other events, 2026 - week 7

J100 Slovakia

Sophia Christodoulou won her first match in singles and then lost in R2

SHe's through to the SFs in doubles though

J100 Austria

Anna Boron lost in R1 of the singles and QFs of the dubs

J60 Norway

Isaac Sallu lost a heart-breaker, against the top seed, managing to get to a third-set TB, before succumbing...

Scott Watson drew the 2nd seed (not a good week, the two GB lads getting the top two seeds), and lost in three sets

J60 Bosnia

Bella Relton lost in R1

J30 Dublin

Run on the new pool system:

Ruben Stanmore has made the final

He beat Lucas Nolte in the semis, and Jake Blackler-Rose in the quarters

J30 Luxembourg

Sam Hostiuc lost in R1

As did Nikita Philips in the girls

Ama Widdowson won three matches and lost a tight match against the top seed in the semis

Emily Craven clocked up two wins and lost in the QFs against the 2nd seed

J30 Mozambique

Henry Emmett has qualified from the pools and made the QFs, as has Charlotte Perks

I'd been noticing quite a lot of tournaments with initial pools.

Here's hoping they don"t have any ideas about trying that again in the pro game.

Yes, I think it only applies to J30s and J60s

And, as far as I understand, it's optional i.e. only some of the J30s are using it

I can see the advantage for young players, to have more than one match

But, yes, it's not great for spectators / followers

So keeping it at the low end makes sense

The ITF site also seems to have huge problems in presenting the info - unless it's me and I can't find it - on the normal ITF junior calendar of events, I can't find the pools, the quali draw isn't 'right', only F draw (for those who qualify) and basically I can only deduce the pool from looking at the OoP

In the draws option you can change knock-out to round robin.
