But in juniors, it is definitely week 1 this week - and it matters as the age restrictions that apply are the 2026 ones
But the juniors and adults should be in synch so maybe we'll go for Week 1 (A) and Week 1 (B) or something like that - I'll amend it later if that seems the most sensible thing to do
All advice from junior fans and admin/stat/keeping things logical fans (you know who you are!) is gratefully received
But in terms of 2026 junior tennis:
J100 Sweden
R1
Alex Mirrington won
Lara Savic had to retire. Karina Kiss still to play.
J60 Belgium
R1
Lucy Bear won.
Alice Sharp lost (unfortunately drawn against the top seed)
Harry Cornhill won. Neo Armus and Samuel Hostiuc lost.
Super Category Tennis Europe
12U Boulogne-Billancourt
(As above, this is a Week 1 2026 event, so only those born in 2014 and younger - there's a big note at the bottom of the ITF site - I think a lot of coaches get confused )
This is big event, one of the most prestigious 12U events, and has live scores, as well as streaming etc.

Girls:
Sahara Baptiste got a wildcard but lost to a very competent Swedish girl who plays for Wilson and whom I epect to do well.
Sahara has some excellent skills and shots, and I love some of her tennis, but she is a little dodgy technically, as well as temperementally, and a touch lazy in her rigour. The opposite of her opponent.
BUT
2015-born Nolwaine Lgassam has come through qualis and won two matches to make the last 16
Victoria Florea is also into the L16 - she played well today, with the makings of a very nice serve, but is often a long way back
And Yilin Li looks like she's going to join her
BOYS:
Mylo Bonello is the sole GB boys taking part
He got a BYE but has now lost the first set of his R2 match but it's very close
Are the ITF aligned for seniors and juniors? Just the atp and WTA at odds with next week being week 1 for them? Or are the ITF at odds with themselves as well?
Thanks for the detailed update! Its great to see how the junior and adult schedules are being coordinated for 2026, and the results from Sweden, Belgium, and Boulogne-Billancourt are really interesting. Some of the juniors, like Nolwaine Lgassam and Victoria Florea, seem to have a lot of potential, and its exciting to follow their progress in these big events.

ITF adult tournaments this week are treated as 2026 tournaments (based on their tournament code). The ITF will be using the international calendar standard (which , as they're based in London, also happens to be the European convention) , where week 1 is the week which contains the first Thursday of the year. I could argue ATP/WTA , are inconsistent with themselves. I can't remember what they do for their rankings when there are 53 weeks - whether they drop points after 52 weeks regardless or there is a week where no points are dropped to keep week 1 (international standard) points dropping in the rankings at the end of week 1 (international standard). That won't be clear until we get to week 53 of 2026 but for now they are the same so week 1 points are being dropped in week 1 (international standard). It's a little confusing and may create anomalies / be slightly unfair as points are dropping before players have had a chance to defend those points.

Watched the end of the first set and all of the second set of Victoria's match. Thought it was a high level overall from both players. Both were looking to attack and impose their aggressive game styles. Shame for Victoria as she was very much in the second set but lost a very tight service game at 3-2 up and that swung the set and with it the match. Victoria has a great game though, lots of power on both wings. good serve and moves well too from the corners. Overall very impressed. and a good week for her.
Unfortunately Yilin lost her match too but did not see any of it.
Victoria Florea and Yilin Li both lost their QFs today. But Victoria, in particular. put up a very good show.
Sahara Baptiste and VIctoria lost their doubles semis
Sahara is through to the final of the Bonus draw - as reported at the top of the page, she was very unlucky with her R1 draw as the Swedish girl has gone on, as expected, to carve her way through the draw
