Boys & Girls J60 Liverpool-hard-indoor-week-46

All GB semi final in the boys
Alex, Finley, Edrick and Aran all winning.

Edrick is a tall lefty and looks like he has plenty of time to get the long levers going.

Excellent

Thrilled that young Aran put out the Hungarian second seed that had looked promising, from paulisi's reports, yesterday

Glad to hear that Edrick Chery is an interesting prospect - still only 15- and it's a nice name

Finlay Whitrow is a new name to me, but he is already 18

Alex is more well known, of course

Delgado & Lee have brought their good overseas players here and stand a good chance of winning both titles.
They have the Hungarian no.2 seed, who has just won easily and the Ukrainian top seed in the girls.
Mitchell, looks a nice player. Lefty, who likes to move forward
Arun is a set up.
The battle of the lefties, is a very tight affair and young Szeto is holdong his own.

Their good chance of winning both titles has just gone out the window - at quarter-final stage biggrin

Which is just as it should be - it's GB's tournament, after all smile (and shows that rankings is all extremely approximative at the this stage)

The Ukrainian top seed got thrashed, in fact, losing 1-6 1-6, to Annabel Wong - so well done, Annabel

And young Aran beat the Hungarian second seed

So it's going well !

Excellent effort from our players

In the SFs, we have:

Four out of four GB boys

And three out of four GB girls

Super win for young Leah Bush over the 18 year-old 6th seed

So, in the girls, there's a 13 year-old, a 14 year-old, a 15 year-old and a 16 year-old in the last four

the boys have three 15 year-olds and an 18 year-old

Really impressed that 2 x 15yr old GB boys have made the boys final, where the older boys normally dominate.

Arun is Cheshire based, training with CW8 academy and Alex is London based out of Elite Performance Tennis.

On the girls, both Annabel and April train out of Bolton Academy, although April has recently moved to the National Academy in Loughbrough.
When April's points go on, she is likely to be in the top 5 for 2012 born athletes in the junior world rankings.
