Vandromme wins the other group, with Penickova ending up in second, after both won in straight sets today.

Looks like there is a boys match currently just started on centre court, and Hannah will be on next/last on there.

Play has been suspended on both courts - for a while now. They only managed two games in the boys match.

I remember from past years that the stadium is impressive (large, well equipped, no spectators though!) but can't recall if they have the ability to close a roof on the centre court (realising they are using 3 courts, but Hannah is on centre today)

Looks like they are moving to an indoor court

First set lost 5-7.

Not sure how permutations work out if she loses. Probably needs 3 players on 1 win and to at least get a set here. Up against it now

Pohankova beat Kovakova in three sets, so by my reckoning Hannah needs one set to go through. Currently 5-7 *4-3

Hannah takes the second set. Actually I'm not certain whether H to H comes into play, or the sets comes first.

H2H if two are tied
sets % if three are tied

Hannah finishes 2nd on either measure

Yeah, worst she can be is 3-4 on sets now, others would be 3-5 if she loses. So lambda is correct.

out of interest, where exactly do they communicate those tie breakers, cant see it on the tournie website? At least not obviously.

anyway. She will play vandromme in the semis whatever the result.

Hannah ended up losing in 3 sets but progresses to the semis with a 1 win, 2 losses record. She plays Vandromme next; suspect that will be a tough ask for her as she doesn't appear on top form.

I think she has to win the tournament to finish World No. 1 which is probably a tall order given her lack of match practice.

Runner up she will be World No. 2, 3rd she will be No. 2 or 3, and 4th she will be No. 4.

Hannah is the third match on Centre tomorrow against the US Open champion JWR8/WTA479 (first is at 3.30 BST)

There is a video interview with Hannah talking about the influence of her sisters on the tournament website

RR3

(8) Ruien Zhang (CHN) d. (2) Hannah Klugman 7-5 4-6 7-5

SF

(4) Jeline Vandromme (BEL) v (2) Hannah Klugman

Hannah lost the first set 4-6

It was very close, missed chances on break points, excellent serving (apart from in one awful game), but a real problem with forehands

Hannah lost 4-6 2-6

Perversely, there was quite a lot to like in that match - her serve was very impressive - it's getting more variety - and most of the DFs don't matter as they were aggressive second serves, and she was right to go for them because it was her best 'winning' shot

But the coaches have obviously been trying to tweak her forehand - the weight transfer, the spin - and it was a nightmare

But that will come right - it was there before, and will be there again.

In the other semi Kristina Penickova beat Mia Pohankova 6-3 7-6(8) so Hannah will play Mia again for 3rd.
