Boys & Girls: J60 Loughborough, GB - hard (inside) (Week 41)

An easy win for 13 year old Aril Sackflame

This is a J60 title, at her first effort, at only age 13 and 6 months

One swallow does not a summer make and all that but its miles better than any other GB player has done in the 10 years or so

From what I understand, the LTA are very excited about her and she has already made a lot of progress just in a few weeks at the national academy. She is a fantastic athlete and hits a very very good ball. I think she has the potential to go a lot further than any other British teenager

She was amazingly impressive at the nationals - in all areas

And speed of progress is a key thing

And not being at the NTC is no bad thing - there's a lot of Hannah's programme which I don't think was wise decision making

Fantastic result - one to look out for.

Do remember that Ms Klugman won a pair of J100 titles aged 13 years 1 month.

Although I wonder about her move to the NTC and whether she would have been suited elsewhere.

Archie came up short

As did Pui in the girls dubs

But youngsters Aran and Niall took the boys doubles title

Does Aril have her own thread yet? Just wondered if it was worth having progress all in one spot.

That's some recommendation to keep on watching April's progress!! All the best to her.

Yes, she has one - created a few days ago

Yes, good point, Hannah did - we called them J3s at the time, and I hadn't renamed them

But if April is setting off on a similar path, that's just fine
