All four girls quarter-finals were over within an hour or so leading to:
QF
(9) Mika Stojsavljevic d. (4) Mia Pohankova (SVK) 6-4 6-2
(2) Hannah Klugman d. (5) Julia Stusek (GER) 6-3 6-2
SF
(Q) Lea Nilsson (SWE) v (9) Mika Stojsavljevic
(14) Jeline Vandromme (BEL) v (2) Hannah Klugman
Lea Nilsson is the surprise semi-finalist coming through qualifying, but not with an outstanding record (though she beat top seed Julieta Pareja last round). Jeline Vandromme was tipped by many to win the tournament - she has won 21 matches in a row, including the recent Roehampton W35 event
Well done Mika and Hannah - now come on Oli against a very good rising Brazilian!
Yeah come on Oli.I thought Mika played the best I have seen her for a while in the second set. Watched Hannah but thought her opponent was a bit weak, so difficult to draw judgement , but a good win. So I suppose technically we could have an all British finalthat is most probably the kiss of death on that happening now though!

I watched some of Jeline's match - and she is just cracking the ball - it's got a pistol whip sound to it - just so heavy and such a thwack
But it all depends on the opponent, of course
Lea is a crafty player - very lefty - very calm
Both of our girls will have their chances but will have very different challenges
Oli was on top in the early stages and served for the first set at 5-3, but the Brazilian has been gaining in confidence and broke back, took it to the breaker which Miguel edged 7-5
Hannah must be close to securing the No. 1 ranking...
Yes, though Julieta (the current #1) didn't score any points at the US Open juniors last year so she's not losing any (although she's not getting any net new ones, as she has 300s as her current lowest scorers anyway)
Haven't done the calculations though, for if Hannah were to win, say
Miguel took an off-court medical time out at the end of set 1, and returned with his serve clearly impacted (but not his groundshots). The quality of the match has gone down as a result, but Oli takes the second set 6-2
Unfortunately Oli's level dropped off in the third, with forehand particularly leaky, and Luis was able to serve closer to his first set speeds, aided by some fine winners to end Oli's US Open
QF
Luis Guto Miguel (BRA) d. (14) Oliver Bonding 7-6(5) 2-6 6-1
Watched most of the match. TBH Oli seemed to switch into safe mode at 5-2 up in the first set and to some extent let his opponent back into the match. And again he seemed to go into safe mode from the start of the third set, when the Brazilian was throwing everything he had at Oli after himself disappearing in set 2. All a bit frustrating. The Brazilian seemed to have a considerable amount of pop on his forehand and was really going for it from the back of the court, whereas Olis going for it involved serve and volley and chip and charge - mostly ending up with passing shots whizzing past him. Lots of upside from here, of course, but I think this one probably got away. Onward and into the big boys now!

I agree 100%
From 5-2 up, and in the first set TB in particular, for instance, it was SO safe, and the balls were SO short, that you were screaming at the screen: Oli, HIT the ball
And then suddenly, he'd run into the net, on a wing and a prayer, as though that was to show he was being aggressive
It's been a good run from him but today was a frustrating match
