It's disappointing that they're out of the doubles but against a world class pairing it had to be expected. The Bryans have been playing together for over a decade while Murray and Auckland have only played 4 times in total ! When I saw the scoreline this morning I was a little worried that they would be completely humiliated, it was good that they put up quite a good fight in set 2.
Speaking after the match, James was forced to admit: “We were a bit lose to start with and before we realised it the match was almost over.”
Andy added: “I thought we played a pretty decent second set but we were up against the best team in the world. Still it’s always fun to play alongside James, we have only played four matches together and we get better each time.”
James will now fly straight back to Britain for Surbiton qualifying which starts on Sunday.
Andy will now head home for treatment on his injured back and does not intend to practice until the end of next week. Andy said "I will now take three or four days off and then I'll start training light. Hopefully by the end of next week I will be able to start training properly again. But my back feels much better than it was after my singles match when even standing up was aching."
Andy is looking forward to the grass season: "It's fun to play on grass because the rest of the year you play on hard and clay," he said.
"It's a nice change and it's good for your body because it's soft and you seal points quickly
"There is less chance you can injure your groin or twist an ankle.
"I really look forward to playing on grass. I played well last year, although I did not get the chance to prepare much for it."
In answer to Vonce's question, Andy and James are not going to play together at Wimbledon. James will be playing with Jamie Delgado. As Jamie Murray will be playing with Colin Fleming, it appears that Andy is not going to play doubles at Wimbledon this year.

Lol ! That was Andy who said that though, not me !!
I think that he'll probably keep the ankle brace on for the rest of his career as it prevents him from turning his ankle and prior to Queens last year he'd already turned it 3 times in his career.
It's true that grass is a softer surface so there's less wear and tear on the body especially the knees and the back as there's more give. However, it can be very slippy especially in the first few days of a grass tournament which leads to quite a few falls and potentially injuries.

Ah right, Andy must be prioritising his singles game over the grass court season. Just hope Fleming and J. Murray do well at Wimbledon when it come around and same with James and Jamie so hopefully James will be in the top 100 rankings of doubles by end of the grass court season.

I guess Andy might try and team up with Djokovic again for doubles. I like to see young guys play as much doubles as possible because I think it helps their all court game and after the AO they said they would like to play together again. I guess is James is playing with Jamie Delgado at Wimbledon then Andy might just look elsewhere for a partner. (Hopefully anyway.)
Ah right yeah Andy might team up with Novak since they are good mates and all.. So if they did say they would play again then Wimbledon might be the time for them to do it or if not they probably will at the US Open.
But considering both their rankings in doubles I think Wimbledon might be the better option of them getting into the draw..
On another note.. Woo my 100th post..
