But it was a 50:50 match - Hollie laid out some excellent clay tennis there
She started really well - intense, physical, aggressive
And took the first set quite easily
but I don't think, at her age, she has the endurance to keep that level up
She dipped in the second - balls had less on them, a bit shorter...
And the third set was a war of attrition and nerves
Hollie was 3-1 up but there were tons of breaks, it didn't really mean anything
She'll be disappointed, Popa didn't look very confident she was winning that match, but Hollie should be very pleased with her level and her achievements this week
It could be a Romanian double as top seed Yannick Alexandrescou (who beat Oli Bonding at Roland Garros) is through to the boys final. Hollie's next event is spearheading the British team attempting to qualify next week for the U16 European Summer Cup and Junior BJK Cup finals
