At least Hep got a break to start her second set. Megan and Allegra a break down in theirs and Mimi in a battle to break first game of hers

I thought all three played really poor matches this morning from the snippets I saw. Disappointed none of them could seem to rise to the occasion and bring a strong level, even if the ultimate result would have not changed.

 Yes, although I'd make allowances for Meg

She's the only 2011-born player to ever take part in the Main draw of a Grand Slam 

And that makes a difference 

It's about experience for her - she was obviously keen to do well and over-pressed (and was awful when she was forced to play near the net, which her opponent cannily figured out) 

But it was a respectable performance 

 

I didn't see Allegra's match and only a few balls of Hep's

But never expected Allegra to beat Jana K and Hep is a little hit or miss at the best of times

No very fair about Meg, CD.

Mimi looked to have turned things round leading by a break in the third but has just lost it so back on serve.

Brooke played an excellent first set but broken in the second. Daniella (who I must admit I know nothing of) is doing very nicely up a set and just broken.

Mimi wastes 40-15*. Getting a bit tight for my liking this...

Yup and she's broken. Saw that coming a mile off. She's just not been herself today at all.

Brooke has broken back and Daniella did a brilliant job to save 5 or 6 break points to hold for 2-0*

Brooke broke for *3-2 but lost serve. She's got a break point here though... nope, nets the backhand. *3-4

Daniella lost her break so it was back to 2-2*, she went up 40-0* but lost 5 points in a row. *2-3

Mimi managed to break for *4-5, goes down *15-30, but clings on for 5-5*

 I don't know about that - when she played Marni recently she played a really lacklustre match - it's obviously part of 'her' 

I find it all a little 'pushy' - very deliberate and a little too much over-thinking

Before the grass she has not been playing much anyway. She needs practice playing.
