How many British main draw wins will we get at Wimbledon 2025?

IF AND WHEN YOU VOTE PLEASE SAY WHAT YOU VOTE FOR - THIS IS A COMPETITION TO FIND OUR BEST PREDICTOR!

After a bumper French Open, it is time to take a view on Wimbledon.

For those who don't remember - the aim is to predict how many British main draw wins we will get in the 5 main events at Wimbledon - mens and womens singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

In doubles, a win for an all British pair will count as 1 win, as will a win for a British/non British pair - eg Joe and Neal winning equals 1 win, Harri and Henry winning is the same.

For those who are interested, there is a full history of wins and who the closest predictor was since 2019 - last year at Wimbledon we achieved 40 wins, can we improve on that? We thrashed all records at the FO, will we do the same here. Or will the grass season continue to not yet deliver quite as well as last year, and will we see a dip? The lowest recent Wimbledon count was 25, will we get lower this time? You decide!

I have taken this into account in setting the range of wins to vote on.

If you vote - when you vote - it is important to note that this is a COMPETITION and we need to know who votes and what number of wins they vote for so that we can keep track! If you vote 31 or less, or 50 or more, please say the exact number you predict so we can track that in saying who is closest at the end!

Also, please note, a win by retirement counts as a win; a win by walkover is not a win and won't count towards the wins tally.

Over the season , the closest predictors are given points and an overall winner is crowned. Indy won the French Open vote and Goldfish won the AO vote and Indy seems to be on a one man bid to dominate this competition as things stand. Can anyone stop him!!

NOTE, when it comes to being closest, it can be up or down - if we achieve 40 wins again this year, 39 or 41 are equally close and will be regarded as equally good predictions when it comes to the points table!

THE POLL / VOTING WILL CLOSE ON SUNDAY 29TH JUNE (AT 9.22PM) BEFORE PLAY STARTS IN THE MAIN DRAWS ON THE MONDAY

Quick favour - I am away on hols for a week from Saturday through the following Saturday. I can collate the full entries on the Sunday but could someone perhaps help out with two things next week 1) just keep a running record of who predicts what 2) if anyone votes anonymously, as people do, can someone try and encourage people to not do that and try and come out of the woodwork!!

I will be checking in regularly, but it will just save me a job or two!! I have Rose to drink and that will be my priority!

As always, I will go early. I think this will be a decent Wimbledon but not a record breaker. We should beat the French Open haul, just, but feel we may be short of last season, just as well. So Im voting 38.

 have great hols !!!

TBH, I think everyone knows full well that you don't like anonymous voting biggrin

They do it because they want to do it that way - I don't think telling them lots of times again will make any difference smile

But next week I'll put up a:

JON DOESN'T LIKE ANONYMOUS VOTING (BUT IT'S BETTER THAN NO VOTING SO PLEASE VOTE ANYWAY)

What do you think? biggrin

Cheers Jon, have a good holiday.

I will go higher than you and I have a provisional figure in mind. But as per usual I will wait to see some draws before refining my final vote. So will declare then after I'm back from my own week away.

Thanks Brendan, and thanks Indy - wouldnt expect anything more!

Now the wildcards are out, a little more for folks to go on, including 11 mens singles and 10 womens singles players, at least.

I've gone for 46, based mostly hoping the recent trend of increasing numbers of wins continues!

Just a little booster with so much else going on and a note to say around 11 days left to vote

LTA WildCard play offs start today and MDWC and QWC's are largely in place with lots of Brits in the main draws - will it be a bumper year?

Have a vote on the number of wins, and tell us what you vote for!

Around 10 days left to vote in this now - closes next Sunday, 29th June (I will set the timer this Sunday evening at some point and confirm the exact time - sadly it requires a week or two weeks to set in advance, or days less than 7 days, but wont allow 10 days!)
