I watched most of that and it was definitely one of the better matches Hannah has played on clay :)
She really dominated the first set - so many winners or quasi-winners - Ksenia didn't look as though she knew what had hit her
In the second, Hannah's serve went AWOL (both first and second) and she tightened up a little
And then Efremova started hoisting the ball, moonballing par excellence
And dragged Hannah into the same gamestyle a bit
BUT Hannah kept playing enough frontfoot tennis to not go down that rabbit-hole - some nice net approaches, some stinging top spin forehands
A very fair score
Thank for the report CD, I wasn't able to watch this one bar the last few points.
It was very windy out there (probably still is) but it was great to see Hannah start far more positively - she seems to have got into a bit of a bad habbit to be slow out of the block
But I do think she was rather keyed up for this match - maybe the Ksenia v Hannah stuff over the years has been getting to her and she wanted to lay down her marker - it seemed like she was taking a bit more pleasure than normal in bossing her opponent around
Thanks for the report CD. I used to hate people moon balling me at my low standard level. Felt they weren't playing the game properly :( - I guess you need to be able to handle whatever is presented to you.
Hannah is first on court 6 tomorrow against an opponent she lost to in the 2022 U14 European Championships. There was disappointment for her in the doubles but Oli+ won

Sad to see Hannah and Emerson lose their doubles, they were RU in Australia, if I recall?
Good win for Hannah. Fajmanova is the opponent in the QF. Hannah was a set and breaks down to the this girl in Milan R3 but recovered at the last gasp and won. So it will be an interesting and very tough match I expect. Lots of opportunity for big points here from Hannah.
Not easy to calculate, but Hannah should be inside the top 10 in the rankings and has little to defend, so a strong grass court season could see her inside the top 5.
In that she came out in imperious form, swinging, hitting deep, on the front foot, the other girl literally having no chance - the first set being one-way traffic
And then in the second set, her first serve went AWOL, the DFs kicked in, her normal ground shots became a bit tamer, a bit shorter, the other girl took advantate and it's a real cat-and-mouse set
BUT Hannah kept positive enough to not give up, to take it right to the line, to still come forwards on key moments, and just clinched it
Really impressive, as this was the 10th seed she beat, and someone who's caused her problems in the past
