20 wins looks the swing point. There is 15 points between them. With 20 wins, emmsie would be 2nd for 40 points and Briitak 4th for 25 points - a 15 point difference and a tie on 95 points. Below 20 favours Brittak, above 20 favours emmsie.

 I would keep it as annual. I think there is more joy to be had by being the 202x champion than the champion of the year ending with the French Open 202x and so on

Just to say, the alternate points system would have seen a top 10 like this: so Britak coming through, Pierrot and mdewey doing well and Blue Belle being significantly higher, as with others. Emmsie would have dropped a lot due to Wimbledon

In essence, the alternate system rewards - accuracy over a season. But more than one bad slam and you would fall away.

The current system rewards "winning" and getting it right, whilst allowing for a bad slam maybe a little more and rewarding being a winner with extravagant shots!

Consistency v Inspiration?

Reliability versus shot making?

Clay court versus grass court?

Thoughts would be interesting and I may decide to put a vote up before year end to ask thoughts. Let me know what you think by posting below:

Current system - points allocated like in a grand prix F1 style points system, weighted more to winning and doing well in a specific slam

Alternate system - points awarded in direct line to how many wins off the winning target you predicted. Appearing to reward consistency being consistently close in all slams.

I will post the actual alternate scoring system scores when the USO is complete, and it will show the difference a little

The updated roll of honour is below - Jonny D added in a year of first time winners - note the USO 25 and 26 excludes mixed doubles
