Les Petits As 2025 - U14 - Tarbes, France (Week 4)

The qualfication rounds are playing today

AND there's livestreams that would put the ITF site to shame

https://www.lespetitsas.com/en/match-center/live/

https://www.lespetitsas.com/en/match-center/live-score/

QR1 Boys

Leon Bekker lost

As did Max Lendrum

And Fred Fabricius

Boyan Ilchev (a new name to me) got a win, though, and Myles and Kiely and Kamran Arif have BYEs

QR1 Girls

Grace Watson, Judy Zhang and Hermione K Davies all have BYEs into QR2

That said, Grace has lost the first set 4-6, not playing particularly well

And Hermione is 5-5 in the first, having been a break up (not that it counts for much at this age and level)

QR2

Hermione K Davies lost in a MTB

Hitting about 6 or 7 direct UEs on her forehand, all of them wild slappy shots, all arm, no core, and with zero risk assessment

QR2

Judy Zhang won a superb match - both her and her Dutch opponent were playing excellent tennis - by far the best match of the three girls today

Zhang won 7-6(5) 4-6 10-4

Two British lads playing this morning - neither on a streamed court unfortunately

But a win and through to the main draw for Boyan Ilchev who won a clutch match, 1-6 6-0 10-8

Tyson Grant is also playing (not the Tyra is quite in Carlos' league biggrin but she's not doing badly....)

Ah interesting. And apparently Budkov Kjaer's younger sister has been playing too.

Grace Watson got an FQR win

Easier than yesterday (although no livestream of her court, so just going off the score)

Judy got blown away at the start of the first set, then played a lot better, and won the second easily. But ended up losing the MTB, which was a shame.

Kamran Arif won his QR2 match

So we have two boys also in with a chance of making the main draw

In the girls, we have:

Megan Knight
Sofia Tatu
Milica Milojevic
Liv Zingge
(q) Grace Watson

Boys

(wc) Oskar Laskwoski

Oskar was well outclassed by a boy who was taller, stronger and played an aggressive game of tennis, at the net, finishing on an ace....

Boys R1 (L64)

(WC) Oskar Laskowski lost to Leo Agnithey (FRA) 3-6 1-6

Quite something to have 3 of the top 8 seeds in the Girls for this tournament.  Emphasises the continuing improvement in international tennis depth in GB.

Grevoul is in the French tennis news quite a bit - I seem to remember that he won Auray - very nippy little boy, with excellent hand skills.

Haqim gave him a good run for his money, especially in the second set, but it wasn't to be

Boys R1 (L64)

Thomas Grevoul (FRA) def. Haqim Kamal (GBR) 6-3 7-6(4)
