Yet again, I have a picture of this from the 7th, exactly as above. And today the same 7th list is completely different. But the ITF sites have all been completely messed up all week. So I'm not changing it .....

With the caveat that there was some mess-up last week with the ITF site, and so there's no coherence, I have again taken a picture and am basing the new rankings on today's screenshot of this week's ITF's rankings

Well done to Julieta Pareja who becomes the new world #1 in juniors - the youngest player to hold that position

For the GB contingent:

14th July 2025

Top-100 and main upward movers

GIRLS

4 (=) Hannah Klugman ('09)
15 (-6) Mika Stojsavljevic ('08)
27 (+19) Mimi Xu
56 (+2) Allegra Korpanec Davies
64 (+2) Brooke Black
81 (-8) Flora Johnson

103 (+49) Ruby Cooling

285 (+74) Daniella Britton ('10)
345 (+26) Mia Wainwright

710 (+89) Clarice Ouvarova ('10)

1146 (+96) Charlotte Perks ('09)
1403 (+60) Hermione K Davies ('11)
1930 (+23) Matilda Burns ('09)

2123 (+299) Sophie Johnstone ('08)
2556 (+208) Angela Cookie ('08)

3568 - NEW IN - Gabby Read ('09)
3735 - NEW IN - Emilia Linley ('08)

That's great from Julieta. I still think that Hannah's goal should be to get to junior number 1 herself. Those who get to No1 seem to have the odds of becoming the best of their generation when they're older e.g. Andreeva or Swiatek.

Really? What about Sabalenka? She's the #1 at the moment and she got to JR 225

smile

And if you look at it the other way, look at all the players who made #1 in juniors who never got anywhere close to #1 in adults

Taking five years from those who should be at their prime now

Fair point - I just feel that players like Sabalenka, Alcaraz, Sinner did not even play much juniors hence their low junior ranking. Whereas those that actually attempted juniors usually have got to no 1 and Hannah has definitely gone the junior route.

Look at all those ones who got to #1, and attempted a lot of juniors, and haven't ever made top-30 in adults - Galfi, Osuigwe, Burel, Parry, etc etc

Yes, absolutely - there's lot of them too - especially if you're including top-10 players, not just top-1 (as you did with the example of Mirra)

But only looking at the #1s:

Kerber, Ash Barty, Wozniacki, Karolina Pliskova - all got to be #1 in adults, and played a lot of juniors and did very well but never got to be #1 in juniors

Ok maybe its not the world ending if she doesn't get to no1 juniors then smile
