 I'm assuming that is specifically in the Australian Open as they don't elaborate,  surely we must have had a decent number winning in the first round at Wimbledon in the past.

Katie Boulter became the sixth British player to win their first-round singles match at this year's Australian Open - the most in the nation's history during the Open era.

The previous record was set in 1974, 1975, 1985 and most recently in 2017.

 Reading it again it's still no clearer to me. All they needed to do was add the words "at the tournament" between "history" and "during" for it to be clear. Otherwise it's only clear because we know enough about the sport to figure out what they mean.

 Anyway, wherever or whichever slam we get 6 first round wins at (outside Wimbledon) it is a pretty good performance from the British contingent!
