How many wins will Britain get at the AO 2025?

Note as per past years, the winner is the person nearest - not spot on although spot on is better!- so if we get 26 wins or more, goldfish will be our winner as the nearest predictor!

Land on 25 - ie no more wins - and Indiana, Seagull and The Addict will win jointly!

If anyone has the time and inclination to create a list of folks who won this, and winning totals, prior to AO2023 , that would be a thing that is very much appreciated. I keep thinking Ill get around to checking but never do - largely as I am on my phone and dont find it easy to search and, when on my laptop, it is during work hours usually and I dont have time.

 Aus 2019 - Wolf + Miriambee 13

Roland Garros 2019 - unnamed winner 11

Wimbledon 2019 - Wolf (?) + one unnamed winner 25

US Open 2019 - Miriambee, Michael D and indiana 24 (I think)

Aus 2020 - flamingowings (+ possibly others ?) 21

Roland Garros 2020 - SuperT 9

US Open 2020  - SuperT 11

Aus 2021 - indiana 23

Roland Garros 2021 - Brendan 9

Wim 2021 - anonymous winner (possibly foobarbaz though they neither claimed victory nor denied it so unclear) 40

US Open 2021 - Miriambee 32

Roland Garros 2022 no competition

Aus 2022 - brittak 17

Wimbledon 2022 - Miriambee 43

US Open 2022 - JonH comes home 26

(that's what I could find, apologies if I have made mistakes or missed some. A more detailed reading of each competition might produce better quality information)

Thank you Kundalini, thats great!

I will capture that list on my spreadsheet - its probably as far back as we can go as I dont think Ill have ran this before then.

And we need you to take part next time, at the FO, with that analysis youd be a contender!

 Indeed, in singles and doubles.

Well done goldfish on being not only our winner but defending champion coming back and retaking the AO title!

Ill put up the post AO standings once action is all complete for the Brits as there are bonus points for a spot on prediction that will make a difference to the points tally!

A couple of folks here changed user names at some point so Ill put together a full list with their current names in due course!

Seeing Michael D brings back memories; he was a regular poster on the womens game a before Covid; his profile is still active but he stopped posting and I fear Covid sadly took him as he stopped posting suddenly in mid 2020.

No one is ever sure why! Thanks for entering, thats 22 now.

Speak for yourself, Jon

Some of us do look at the players, look at their form and their draws and try best to estimate the final total. A bit deluded maybe but just saying ...

4 + 5 + 11+ 1 + 4 = 25 !

I havent done the maths Indy, how did your by event breakdown compare to what we ended up with?

Point system for the year long table will be

Pts
1 25
2 18
3 15
4 12
5 10
6 8
7 6
8 4
9 2
10 1

Spot on 5 bonus points

If two players get 2nd both get 18 points, 4th will still get 12.

Or 3 players in 6th, all 3 will get 8 points, 9th will get 2 points

So, just to confirm how it works (and I will put it in the other overview thread when known).

The winner (goldfish) will get 25 points for winning and possibly could still get 5 bonus points if we close on 26 wins - taking them to maybe 30 points

We have 3 people equal 2nd, Indy, Seagull and TA, and they will all get 2nd place points ie 18

We have one person then in 5th place and they get 10 points

And so on - 11 people will get points overall.

The points table follows the F1 grandprix scoring system with exception of the bonus system, obviously.

Not too bad even though I say it myself. Let's hope we haven't ended and I end up just under or equal in all 5 categories, with  in order MS, WS, MD, WD and mixed.

5 + 5 + 10 (+?) +:2 + 4 = 26 (+?)
